Fractal level how does it work?
Basically, you have a personal scale based on how far in the dungeon you survived. When you party up, the dungeon looks at everyone’s scale and puts you in the scale based on the person with the lowest.
Example: 4 ppl with scale 10, 1 person with scale 1, you’ll start at scale 1. This doesn’t hurt the 4 ppl with higher scale, it’s just their scale won’t progress til they get to scale 11. The persons with scale 1 with get his scale progressed up to how far they go.

great thank you for clearing this up to me
Ouch, well, that sucks. What you are saying is the more I do, the more likely it is I will hit a wall I can’t pass because either I’m not good enough, or my gear isn’t good enough because of the whole Agony thing.
What If I want to stick to lower Fractal levels? I have to group with at least one person with a low enough Fractal level?
Yea, finding someone with a low scale will get you into the lower tiers. However, I read somewhere tht the scale will reset every week, but that could just be a rumor. I believe I read it on on of the sites that had a sneak peak on the dungeon last week. Maybe someone else saw this as well and can chime in or a dev will kindly confirm or deny.

Don’t worry about Agony, it’s only difficult to deal with on Cliffside and Jade Maw. You can survive up to 20 with no agony resistance (although barely in Jade Maw’s case, since its unavoidable). I really don’t think pugs are going to get past 21 any time soon, because the difficulty really ramps up there.
Whether or not fractal difficulty resets weekly is my question there.
It doesn’t, dev responded in another thread.
Doesn’t even matter, you can choose any lower lvl you want in the “enter window”.
