I hope it’s just bad RNG on my part, but is anyone else seeing REALLY awful loot from the daily chests? I’ve done 6 tier 3 dailies (18 total fractal chests) since the update and have gotten pathetic loot. Just a couple fractal encryption keys and maybe 1-2 rares.

chance for gold relics / skins seems to be nerfed a lot or [KING] is very unlucky
chance for armor/weapons seems to be about the same

T4 is the way to go, not T3.

I don’t even know if you can call it a nerf.
I think the pure gold outcome is higher now if you sell possible T7 materials.

On the other hand do I believe that the chance for ascended stuff got reduced or I am was just unlucky the last days.

I’ve gotten a Shoulder and weapon chest so far (spread over 5-6 fractals since patch). Besides that I’ve gotten a +9 AR infusion

I’ve got a single +6 infusion, a few non-infused rings, and Potions of uselessness (fractal potions).

I’d say the rewards team done goofed so far, but it’s a small sample size still.

You have to keep in mind that you are getting 3x as many chests for doing the daily now. Yes the loot from individual chests was “nerfed” but overall I think the daily is much more rewarding. You should see much more ascended gear despite the drop rate of individual chests being lower.

Saw asc boxes every t4 run since Tuesday – I got one too. In my opinion the droprate has increased powerfully, definitely not nerfed.

It’s weird because I also found this to be the case. I looted 2 armor boxes myself, both being shoulders.

At least the chance for gold fractal weapons and gold relics was nerfed a ton. Seems like you can expect 1 relic and less than 1 weapon per month now even if you do all lvl 4s.

Ascended drops are primarily from Daily Chests T4. As you’ve done 0 of those it’s pretty expected to have the loot you’ve gotten. on T3 the drop rate seems to be a bit less than T4.

Loot nerfed for sure. I’ve been doing T4 since patch, I got nothing whatsoever out of any (T4 to T1) chests. Not a single ring, not a single ascended. Nada.

Is my account bugged? Sure starts feeling that way.

Before I’d run fracs I’d get a lot of rares. Say 3 per 1 frac at least??? Now I’m lucky if I get one.

My guild (besides me) is kittening drowning in T7 mats and chests to the point where someone got two chests, a golden skin and what I think was a T7 mat today from a single set of dailies, so yeah, we’re just unlucky (but at the same time, examples like the aforementioned one are extremely lucky too, “normal” loot should be something between those two extremes)

I admid i didn’t do that many T4 fractals but i never said 0.
Anyway, i used to get way more rings normal and infused, now even that seems like its nerfed or bugged or whatever.

I’d love to see their RNG algorithm. There’s been multiple indications it uses current time, ie looting items during certain time (close to within a second?) gives you same item.

Probably they never going to show it to us, and there might even be multiple RNG methods for different content in the game, but this right now is just pretty aweful. Some people get everything, some get nothing.

Hopefully it evens out in the long run, and fingers crossed there’s no bug in there.

Doesn’t change though the question => was loot from end chests nerfed? When I ran fractal dailies before my inventory was bursting, and there were a lot of rares. Now I get close to no loot, and 1 rare. I do realize I only run 3 T4 fractals and 2 lower, instead of 9 total fracs, but that’s still 5 vs 9, so I shouldn’t be seeing 1/9 th of what I was seeing before

Gotten 2 glove boxes, 1 weapon box, 3 elonian leather, and 1 bolt of damask since patch.

I would say its too early to say its a nerf or a buff tbh.

2 boxes, 2 rings, 1 damask, 1 deldrimor and a few blacklionthings from like 3 days of all t4 dailys… tbh i didn’t saw more than 2 boxes between HoT-release and the last update… My experience is that it was buffed at a huge amount. But only time can answer this question properly (or Anet).

Yesterday one of our group members got 3 boxes while the other ones got none. I got none either from my pug runs today but it’s ok because the amount of gold and the other “trash” (golden relics, rings, t7 mats, blc etc.) is enough reward.

Loot at anything below 75+ scale seems to be absolute trash. Seems like they moved all the rewards to the 75+ scale.

How much gold should you be rewarded with for a 10 minute fractal?

Yeah, that honestly sounds like a great reward given how short a lot of the fractals are (at least if you have a decently competent group)

I am curious how big the ascended droprate difference is between T3 and T4, though. I’ve only got the AR for T3- going higher takes a fair bit more work- and it’d be nice to know just how much I should push to get the AR for T4

My salt comes not from the rewards to time ratio, it’s that they bloated the tables with stuff i’ll just delete.

Seriously, no one want’s fractal potions as a “reward”. That’s like going to the dentist and getting wisdom teeth pulled without them using any sort of numbing agent.

And I don’t know what are the average price of encryption right now, but 7 keys at the very least 1.60 Gold of reward.

I’m just saying (relatively) bad RNG does what bad RNG will always do: make ya feel salty. Even if you still got a bunch of stuff, it’s that your buddies got better stuff. It isn’t reasonable, it just is. And is how it should be.

I think the cash>gem>gold argument is a strawman created out of bitterness and isn’t actually a reason.

There’s a reason P2W cash shop designs exist. It’s pretty evident players are willing to spend money to wave away bad luck or immense time gates.

RNG is RNG, and that is a very small sample size.
I got one armor box, one weapon box, one accessory, one golden weapon, one relic, one BL salvage kit, one infused and two non-infused rings. So I’m quite happy with the loot.

I think my fractal loot from end chests is back to normal (it fills up the inventory and there’s a few rares in there and plenty greens and blues). Maybe something got fixed?

Still getting kitten all from dailies, got a 3 rings so far though, so hopefully luck will favor me some day My friend got 3 ascended chests in 3 days lolz (2 weapon and 1 shoulders?)

They already said they’re looking into moving away from RNG further, so we might see something like that.

T4 is the way to go, not T3.

The problem with this is you need close to full ascended to do a large enough range of T4 fractals to consistently complete dailies.

If the solid drop rates on ascended boxes are limited to T4, then it kind of wrecks any sense of a progressive reward system.

I mean, really, you invest money to craft ascended armor and weapons so you can get to T4 and start being rewarded with….ascended armor and weapons which…you can use to gear your alts! Hooray?!

If the reward system was something like….

Tier 1 – Low jewelry drop rate.
Tier 2 – High jewelry drop rate, low armor drop rate.
Tier 3 – High jewelry drop rate, high armor drop rate, low weapon drop rate.
Tier 4 – High jewelry drop rate, high armor drop rate, high weapon drop rate, upgraded AR infusions with either additional stats or cosmetic elements.

…then, you could reasonably progress thru the fractal system without feeling forced to craft ascended pieces and still having some form of desirable loot at T4 that wasn’t just for gearing your alts.

If ascended armor was also an option for a high amount of fractal currency you could only get at in varying amounts in T2-T4 fractals, then this would also add a more consistent approach to progression.

You could leave the weapons as just RNG, since they aren’t make it or break it from an AR slot perspective, but yet are the most desirable ascended item due to their increased weapon damage.

Well, for me the system is ok. It’s a legit thing to say you have to craft your first armor to be geared perfectly for the highest fractals and with that you can get more over time for your alts from drops. Keep in mind that there are players out there that never crafted an asc armor and still they have a complete set.
If you lower the chance again it would flood the storage.
And my last point, there are fractals where you don’t need the proper amount of all the AR. My buddy was lacking T4 AR yesterday. The dredge fractal he went upstairs only at the endboss without a problem, Snowblind has 0 AR checks so easy peasy again and volcanic fractal was also no problem. You can constantly working towards your goal, just don’t expect it to be face roll more like it already is.

I haven’t done a lot of fractals since the patch. 3 times t4 I think, and maybe 6-8 t3 runs (all daily fractals). In total I got two gold fractal weapons, about 5 or 6 rings (2 infused), one ascended accessory, and a variety of other stuff (no ascended mats or boxes though, but I never got ascended boxes before either).

It’s RNG, and will even out in the long run.

These new rewards have certainly been bad for me. A few rings, a few potions, an ecto or 2. And that’s from doing all 3 T4s every day since patch. Oh, I got an ascended accessory with abysmal stats that salvaged to 6 +1 infusions.

Did every t4 so far since the patch, got 5 ascended mats (2 elonian, spiritwood, damask and steel) but nothing else. Not complaining since they turn into decent money anyway. Got my first ring today!

Meh, been doing T4 since day one of the patch and I’ve received a total of … 0 Ascended Armor/Weapon boxes.

So yeah whatever
