I really want to farm for some of my fractal stuff to make the process quicker in conjuction with my dailys and monthlys.

I am a thief but I am not a bad player and I really want to get my backpiece from there.

I’ve never completed a full round of fractals. Only got 15 relics and don’t know anything at all about this dungeon. This has never been a problem with any other dungeon. I can make a group and run through it with a guide or someone whose done it before no problem.

For some reason since this dungeon has a dungeon level mechanic to it, that it is only for the people who run it 24/7. Getting in on a group seems really hard.

I thought I read in the patch notes that ANet would allow anyone to play at whatever level fractal but just not create fractals at high levels. This not true?

Why does anyone even have to have completed a certain level to create a game at that level? I thought this game was supposed to be about community and indiscriminate about “time spent” in a game equals advantages over other people.

This dungeon makes me mad because I want to run it and I am a casual solo player with no guild. It’s how I like to play, but ANet is making it hard for me to get into groups in this dungeon IMO.

You can create at the highest level of your party. You don’t need to be there, just anyone in your party needs to, so its not an obstacle to play at the level of others as needed. So if you have a guide or someone else who has done it before, it won’t come up at all.

The barriers are simply whether or not you have AR. Its not really necessary through level 20, though the first 5 helps a lot in 10-19. Given you have a choice for getting AR (sort of) outside of fractals, it makes it even easier to jump into the 10 daily runs. Completing any level above yours will grant you a level on your fractal progression, so you don’t need to be that selective on what level you run, as long as you have the AR/experience to handle it.

Your better off levelling it. There is a learning curve and if you start in higher levels you will just be constantly killed and be no help to your team.

Fractals is not that hard in general. It does depend on what scenarios present and the willingness of the group to play together. Our guild runs it fairly easily and we are primarily a casual player guild. It does require more coordination than regular dungeons…especially as you progress to higher levels.

Sometimes we are short players to go…If you are on Yak’s look me up and ask for an invite…we can get a round done for you if we have a spot open.

Seemed like fractals 1-5 felt about the same difficulty. It gets a little harder but its still easily done. I’d look for groups in that range and dont limit yourself to doing fotm 1 only. Its funny but I do fractals in the upper teens and we still get people who have no idea what they are doing. Its like the bought there character off fleabay or something.

What’s this AR people speak of? Arcane Resistance? How do I get my AR outside of fractals with laurels?

I got turned down again for this dungeon and the guy was nice enough to tell me AR was the reason.

AR = Agony Resist. You get them in a plethora of ways.

Fractal 10+ Daily tier bonus chests
Save up 10 Pristine Fractal Relics
Save up 30 Laurels
Save up 40 Luarels + 50 E.
Save up 12 commendation guild merits and 5G.
Craft a backpack that can be imbued with +5AR

There might even be more! But as you see there ways to get your AR before you step into fractals. And ways to just run 10x level 10 dailys, and get AR regarless of the RNG that drops during those runs.

AR is Agony Resistance, from lvl10 upwards you have to deal with agony.

Finding/making a group isn’t hard. Use gw2lfg or join a guild and you’ll be fine. Takes me 30 mins at most (and I’m doing low levels (<10) atm).

Feel free to add me. I can run some low level fractals with you and show you the ropes. Once you know the mechanics they’re easy until 30+.

Would it be easier to get groups on my warrior? I have 76 warrior and I can buy exotics for him right away when he hits 80.

E in that context stands for Glob of Ectoplasm and that’s because the ascended earrings can be got using 40 laurels and 50 ectoplasms provided you are not in a guild that has guild missions unlocked.

I am not certain why you can’t find groups using gw2lfg.com because as I type this I see a number of “looking for more” (LFM) mosts for fractal level 1-9. Agony is not an issue until fractal level 10 and even fractal level 10 can be done with 0 agony resistence (AR). So very unlikely anyone would be doing gear checks for ascended gear on you at level 10. Not that I recommend new players jump in at level 10. But you should be able to join a group going for Fractal 1 to 9 and be generally okay.

I think you might just be making a post on gw2lfg.com and just waiting for someone to contact you. You should make a “looking for group” post but you should also actively looking for a groups forming and try to join them. As I said, as long as the group is going for a fractal level below 10, not having agony resistance will not matter.

In terms of agony resistance, you can get ascended gear outside of fractals but for the agony resistance infusion you need fractal relics. 75 relics for a simple versatile agony resistance. So no matter how you look at it, you can’t avoid doing fractals for agony resistance. But its a dungeon that can easier to find groups for as you go up level until you hit about 30ish.

If you want to add me to you friends, I regularly run low level fractals to get people used to the dungeon. Server does not matter anymore for this dungeon.

In different levels there’s only a very slight difficulty change. My guild group was only level 2 tonight, but we got a new guildie who was level 9 and so we decided to give 9 a shot to get him on to 10. We replayed two fractals we had done gettign to 2 and the difference was only very slight in them. I imagine once after 10, the difficulty increases a bit with the introduction of agony, but what I gather is that 20+ AR becomes a bit necessary.
