Fractals Revisited
Na, leave fotm mechanic as is.
Add this to all other dungeons though. Plus, you might want to try the suggestion forums
I have a better idea. Get us back our Fractal before they limit it to level 49. It the only truly hard PvE content and now if i want to help my guildmates to go in high level fractal we either stop at 49 or I need to bring them in odd number which give no daily reward. Other than that and some new fractals once in a while, let the fractal like it is.
Fractals don’t get harder the higher level you go. Agony is a gating system. You can dodge all agony attacks except for Jade Maw. Agony is a complete waste of space and time.
Besides this type of dungeon design is so flawed that new players wouldn’t even want to step foot in it. Even if the rewards were good at 50+; who in there right state of mind would want to grind the same fractals 200 times?

you can’t evade 15 mob focusing on you….
You need tactic…
Since the damage is higher as you advance fractals are actually harder the more you advance, until you get to the point everything oneshots you.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

He said agony attacks not mob attacks. Regular mobs do not have agony attacks. (see bolded text above)
Anyways, I think agony and increased statistics (increased HP, bodies, and damage) are artificial difficulty. Sure, I’d have to change strategies a little bit, but really, it feels like same thing as you’re climbing the scale levels. I was expecting there to be different mechanics at higher thresholds (i.e. harpies gaining the knockback shot starting at scale 10), but everything was felt pretty much the same after scale 10.

I noticed the same thing as well, and quite honestly, as I climbed to 20, and then 30, I didn’t notice anything different from any of the mobs, except they hit harder.
I hope there are new mechanics at 50+, once they officially open it up to do.

I applaud the attempt at a dungeon that scales in difficulty, but what I don’t agree with is the implementation. They know that they can’t keep increasing stats and levels indefinitely. Besides, that’s not real difficulty, it’s fake.

Grinding aside, I think the Fractal system is a vast improvement to the dungeons (which have no proper difficulty curve). But I just think the system is in it’s infancy right now. It’s an experiment, which worked. I still would rather join a group for Fractals, than for any of the dungeons. Because the Fractals are just a lot more enjoyable. I’m hoping though, that they expand on the system eventually. I don’t see myself grinding Fractals for 200 times if nothing is added.

People who think it’s fun. I didn’t do it to get to 50, I did it because it was fun to play with my friends and see how well we could master the challenges.
More mobs, higher health, harder hits, more veterans… that all equates to being harder. Just because it wasn’t the ‘harder’ that you expected, doesn’t mean it’s not more difficult.
Even a group that has 55 AR and experienced will take longer on lvl 48 than they will on 1, 10, even 28.
Edit: I completely agree with you spoj. The switch from 9 to 10 was awesome. I can’t even describe my disappointed switch from 19 to 20, as I found no other mechanics change.

It is harder but its a bad way to design harder content. Pure artificial difficulty. Cant say I mind too much aslong as the end result is it gets more difficult/less forgiving. But I would much prefer more mechanics as you go up. When you go from tier 1 to tier 2 thats the kind of change you expect. It seems they just got lazy and decided not to add any extra mechanics in the next tiers.
