I’d imagine it is because they build it separately and then simply upload that copy (with new build) to be live. In this case it is pretty big so will require some additional testing once live. That’s my guess anyway.

That said, I share your amazement as the Anet team has always been on the ball for this type of thing and work very fast.

So just out of curiosity Cameron, will fractal daily rewards reset after HoT launches?

Can we finally know how much AR we need to push beyond 50?

Please say that this mean new fractals as well, not just updates to the rewards.

It means new lvls, not new fractals, you would know this is you had read the blogpost

1-20, 21-50, 51-100 are the new tiers afaik
rewards are bound to dailies now iirc, you’d have to check the blog post

I think it is not divided to every 10 levels. Check that blog again. I think all 100 levels is divided into 3 categories.

The fractals legendary backpiece was originally tied to the Fractals Leaderboards, I believe, and now that that has been pushed until after launch I imagine the backpiece has as well.

Please dont let it turn into fractal weapon boxes all over again. Announced and then we dont see them for 2 years. Legendary backpiece was something i was quite looking forward to simply for the stat swap.

Im sure you can understand how nervous we are about that regarding fractals. Especially considering what happened with fractured. :P

On Heart of Thorns release, you’ll be able to earn the precursor backpack. Some of the components for the legendary will become available with a future fractals release… when it’s ready™

I was hoping the fractal capicator would be the precursor… Tell me it’s at least a component.

That’s true actually.

Their testing server is completely separate and the client that they use for it has a different .dat file. It requires a whole different installation and there are a lot of things that don’t exist in the live game. Pretty nice if you compare it to for example archeage which has like 20-22 hour uptime a day at the very most… lol.

In preparation for the launch of the new fractals system alongside Heart of Thorns, we’ll be disabling the Fractals of the Mists instance for a short time period on Thursday Night.

From 11:00pm PDT on October 22nd until the moment Heart of Thorns content becomes available, Fractals of the Mists will be inaccessible. Anyone already inside the instance may be removed from the instance at that time.

Once Heart of Thorns is available, the new version of the fractals instance will become available to all players.

As a reminder, we will not be resetting your player scale, so you may play the new fractals starting from whichever scale you had previously achieved.

We’ll see you in game!
