Would you like to try out Fractals, but haven’t run them much (or ever)? Are you not comfortable just hopping in with anyone? Would you like to learn a bit from some others so you don’t feel lost?

If so, you’re invited to this event: Our guild, Salt of the Earth, is hosting our second Fractals for Beginners night. We aren’t uber-elite players, but we hope we can help you learn the basics and get comfortable in what I feel is one of the most fun pieces of PvE content in the game.

Please reply to this post to sign up. Include the time you want to come. We’ll have 3 available spaces per time slot.

Notes:
1) Our 10:00 slot is questionable this week. I’ll update if I can confirm it is a go or no-go.
2) We strive to be kind and respectful. We ask you to do the same.
3) We will fill the groups on a first-come first-serve basis of replies to this post. I’ll try to add an update when time slots have filled.
4) You must include the time you’d like to come to be signed up. We’ll try to manage “X is my first choice, but I’ll come at Y if that fills” to the best of our ability.
5) We will wait 5 minutes past the designated time for late comers, but at that point will open the group on LFG.
6) We will be using the guest feature on our Teamspeak channel to help facilitate.
7) We’ll do our best to get the right people signed up in the right slots. Please forgive us if something gets garbled.
8) We will not be doing a waiting list. If this format for sign up works well, we’ll consider it in the future.

Best of luck with this. I will suggest that you post this to Reddit (/r/guildwars2) as well, as you’ll reach a much larger audience that’s also probably more interested in participating than the regulars of this subforum.

Thanks for the tip! We’re still trying to figure out the best ways to reach people. I’ll look into reddit tonight (assuming we don’t get a flood of responses).

Hey guys, thanks for hosting this event. Long story short I haven’t really played since launch so a ton of things are new to me lol. That being said I’d like to join the 9:30PM slot or the 10PM slot if the former isn’t possible. IGN is Macha The Temptress. Thanks

Seconded! I’ve been looking for low level fractal runs for quite some time (my guild very rarely does fractals, and would only go as low as level 10 the one time they’ve done so – quite agonizing, pun intended, for a new player), so if something like this ever happens at a time I can attend I would love to join.

Could there be a future Fractals for Beginners event on a weekend, perhaps?

This would be perfect for me. I enjoy the PVE aspect of the game, but lack experience with dungeons or fractals (and feel bad about joining more experienced groups and slowing them down). Usually I just get my PVE kicks on Tequatl and SW.

Regarding PST vs EST or any other time zone, I have already been forced to admit to my pacific and central guildmates that as someone in the eastern time zone that is the only frame of reference I can think in …

I’ll make sure to mention to the other guild members that there’s an interest in weekend runs. I’ll update or create a new post if we work something out.

I did my first fractal run earlier this week after thinking I’d probably never give it a shot. I had a lot of fun. I’m game for running one tonight. I’m up for 9:30 EST. If that’s full, 10:30 works as well.

Edit: We just finished our run a little bit ago. If anyone was interested, but wasn’t able to attend, do it! It was a lot of fun and we all learned something. These guys did a great job.
