Fractals has killed all other dungeons.
Stop standing in Lions Arch trying to find groups. Go to the actual area and finding groups should be quite easy.
As for making them more attractive they have stated several times that they are updating the old dungeons.

It’s not. Yesterday I couldn’t find a single player in Caledon Forest or in my guild to join me for a run of Twilight Arbor. It feels like 90% of the people doing dungeons at the moment are aiming at Fractals.

I’ve done so and it is just as frustrating as standing in LA, not too mention, rather expensive to travel around doing a LFG. YES, it is still possible to get a group but the amount of time it now takes to get 5 people interested is now ridiculous.
Maybe if the game had a real LFG tool….
This is incredibly bad design and with all the negatives associated with FoTM and Ascended gear one has to wonder, was this thought out fully and what exactly are Anet going to do in order to make other dungeons attractive again?
You do know that the “old” dungeons are now a massive gold mine right? Doing the 3 paths in AC now gives around 3+ gold compared to maybe 1-1,5 gold before the patch. Arah can be farmed for even more gold, as long as you exploit the forgotten path.

I still see plenty of people doing other dungeons, the main problem is that the Arah gate is STILL not fixed so people still can’t do the arah dungeon.
• Have you heard of the city? The ancient uru? Where there was power to write worlds •
I think the title of this topic should be changed to: “The old dungeons have killed the old dungeons” instead.
What you have is a pile of dungeons that everyone hates doing, and one brand new dungeon that has only been out for about a week, which is actually fun to do. And you blame the fun dungeon for the lack of people doing the bad dungeons?
You’ve got it all wrong, blame the old dungeons for being so bad and causing a drop in players doing them. And ask for a redesign of the old dungeon content, so their fun level is on par with Fractals or better.

I actually liked the old dungeons a lot, they weren’t too hard; you could get dungeon gear fairly quickly and it was easy to join groups in a hurry. I regularly farmed a few of them each day but strangely I don’t really feel as motivated to do FOTM.
Maybe its the RNG nature of the rewards, the difficulty in looking for correct groups. Not sure, but I miss PUGing the old dungeons a few times a day.
I hate the old dungeons. I’ve been in so many dungeons runs which ended with “I’m never going back here ever again” on behalf of my party (even after we succeeded).
I guess everyone has their own definition of fun. But I think if the designers take a second look at the old dungeons, fix balance issues, improve the fun factor, reduce health on bosses with massive health pools, improve boss battles that are boring or unfair, and make insta-kill obstacles more forgiving, that players will return to these dungeons eventually. And maybe, just maybe, add some surprised along the way. Too many of the dungeons feel like a short corridor with too strong opponents in them. Very linear and repetitive.
So yeah, a lot needs to be fixed for people to find them fun, that’s the biggest challenge.
A lot of the game play in Fractals is a huge improvement. Take for example the various jumping challenges where players are simply teleported and downed if they fall. Same for other dangerous obstacles which are no longer an armor-repair grind as with the old dungeons. I think a lot of these great ideas could be implemented in the old dungeons to make them just as fun.
