Currently have 45 AR and had a party member with 55 AR during last night’s run. We go through swamp, shaman, and dredge but when we finally get the Maw on his first agony tick the entire party wipes. A member tried using an orb and was of course taken out once up. So we went back to checkpoint and even jumping across trying to use Tome of Courage one tick of agony from Maw instantly kills us.

From my understanding the requires from agony resistance is usually [lvl] – 5. So 45 AR should at least make you survive the first few ticks like most runs in order to get heals off.

Is anyone else having this issue trying to run it? I only did lvl 50 so I can get my personal level to 50 but looks like I just need to do a 49 instead. Wish I had last night to make the run worth it since it was a pretty low blow of us.

Anet placed a cap on Fractals 50+ for months now, so you can’t get past Jade Maw regardless of the currently available AR, or any other method you try and use (it will just be re-applied). On all the other Fractals however, Agony ticks the same as Fractals 40+, so you can do progression by doing uneven levels.

Since january, it has been impossible to do a daily with fractals 50+.
Anet said that it wasn’t intended to go that far with the AR we had, so they changed it so 50+ was impossible to do anymore.

So I assume they have said nothing about allowing players past 50 yet since they added new ascended weapons?

No. We were hoping they would allow us to get over 50, as they said back then that “each new piece of AR gear is meant to allow you to progress to further fractal levels”.

But nope, 50+ is still impossible, and now it probably won’t change for a while, until the fractal patch where they’ll put the new fractal map.
