Playing the Fractals of the Mists dungeon since release on and off, I have only been able to get up to scale 13. However, it has been fun and interesting overall. I have no problems with the dungeon or the agony system, but theres one thing that is annoying the hell out of me.
Whenever I join a lvl 10 “daily” party recently, at least one person has gone on about what scale they’re up to before complaining about the team while not doing basic things themselves (reviving downed allies for example). This usually culminates in the party wiping once in the grawl fractal before the “pro” gets pissy and leaves.
I have 5 pristine fractal relics and the last six times I’ve attempted to gain more, this has happened.
Having to repeat a dungeon because of this is unenjoyable and against gameplay flow.

Elitists will be elitists, even where it’s not necessary. I was helping some friends get up from level 1 with 1 pug and he was getting mad at us all for not glitching mossman, even though it’s kittening level 1 fractals.

There’s not much you can do except run with a guild.

Yeah, I guess I’ll do that then. It’s just irritating me because when I got my fifth pristine relic, someone doing it for their first time got an Ascended ring.

That sucks man. Sounds like you’ve run in to some real jerks. I’m on 21 right now, but if someone needs an encounter explained on the 10 daily, I’m happy to take the time and do it in a nice way. Heck, I even took some time the other day to help someone get through level 1 – none of them new anything about it, but with some careful explanations and Norn-sized patience, I got them through it

Do you look for groups on gw2lfg.com? This is where I get all my groups, and almost always get good people from that site. It’s safe and acknowledged by ArenaNet (they stickied the post).

I belive you can do a fractal lvl 2 run for the daily, should get the pristine relic, then do lvl 10 for chance at straight up ring plus the pristine relic. And when it comes to that, you do 26 or 28 and then 30 and 40 dailies for infused rings and then skins from any jade maw daily chest in each bracket over 20, as in 20-29, 30-39 ect ect

You can do fractals level whatever without any resistance, you just need to play really carefully while learning the tells.

But really man, just give fractals a break until the patch comes, its really not worth the hassle knowing the patch is just a handful of days away to rely on extreeme luck of no one being crashed by the game and no terrabad player logging off when you get to a map they dont know how to play.

Fractals 10 is just really bad for some reason. Ones below it are better, as are ones above it. It’s just something about pugs doing fractals 10 makes it a horrible experience.

That’s the reason I even progressed in the first place. By the time you get to 40s, there are only a handful of people pugging during your playtime, you can easily remember which ones are nice, which ones stay on your block list.

Heh, figures they would do it like that, not their thing making it bit easier for casuals or newbies.

Havent been that low after that patch, but in my mind it felt so logical to give people a chance to grind for 1 guaranteed ring every 5 days so they had easier time experiancing the game. Not like the resistance matters one iota later one, get hit and you are dead.

From experience, resistance really doesn’t matter. There will be a point where the moment anything other than collateral AoE touches you and you die before you can actually finish saying “WTF”.

The entire FotM system is meant to bottleneck content. It’s kinda like how Blizzard would make raids easier after a certain amount of time to allow more people to progress, back in the old days.

Yep, I was taking some guildies though low level fractals last night. Picked up a pug who was tier 15 on his main so he knew it all. I didn’t mention I was much higher than him as it really didn’t matter. He was mad we weren’t glitching the Archdiviner. I don’t get the point of having to glitch everything just because you can. Most of these fights are easy enough legit, what’s so bad about doing it that way. It’s annoying enough that I literally never get to fight Mossman anymore. I hope when they fix his glitch they buff the crap out of him too, just so he can have a little revenge.

I also have noticed a higher percentage of idiots in dungeons too. I just play it out, try to keep the group working towards the objective to get the dungeon complete, then block the jerk afterwards so I don’t accidently play with them again.
