Honestly, what are my chances of being able to PUG to fotm 26? Because for the most part my groups havent been very good and now that I’m reaching fotm 16 I definitely see groups struggling. Its not that the content is too hard but the players just aren’t very good. Bad gear, no consumables, most of them running some pvp spec because they are to lazy to find a good pve one. Do I have a snowballs chance of hitting 26?

Be vocal and use a “carry” mindset. When you get yourself about 15-20AR, just join fotm 26/28 dailies for your progression as you’ll have better luck grouping with seasoned players.

I’m lv25, about half of those levels were gained with pugs so it’s certainly do-able. Just gotta have patience for every other bad pug you get.

Edit: if you’re lucky you might find a group you click with and end up asking each other regularly for your dailies and such. That’s what happened to me.

Thanks for this tip! I’ll give it a try. Makes sense and maybe i can make the leap from those lost groups. My end goal is to run fotm 26/fotm 16 which I thought was conservative but realistic for pugg’ing. Now i see it being possible

I keep looking for this too. Maybe I need to be a little more proactive in asking.

You’ll see that the more you go up, the easier it becomes because most players that are still unexperienced stops at 20.

Depends on your profession. If you are a guardian, you can easily PUGs as high through the fractals as you wish. However, if you are a thief, you will be kicked even from daily 10 & 20 PUGs just because of your profession. What is more, a significant amount of gw2lfg posts asks for a certain class, in 95% of cases they are looking for guardians/warriors only.

People in general have low expectations of pug performance. I don’t know if I’m incredibly lucky or what, but I have done about 175 fractals and progressed up to level38 (with plenty of level26 grind) using only pick-up groups and I remember like two or three times when we have not been able to finish fotm with the group (it always has been the fire shaman).

Generally my pug-experiences have been really good in this game. After the january patch I progressed levels 30-38 solely for progression and didn’t fail a single run despite facing the fire shaman a few times. On higher levels people seem to be generally more dedicated and know the skills/weps/traits that are essential for the party’s success.

Also pugged my dungeon master title. That might have been gotten more difficult now due to WP nerf. I’m ele btw.

I’ve pugged over 400 fractals between two characters. Scale 38 on warrior, 22 on guardian. I’d say my success rate is something like 95%, maybe more.

Last night I pugged a scale 2 with a level 12, 20, 56, 80 and myself at 80. Everyone besides myself had never stepped foot into a fractal. Our only problem fractal was oddly the swamp. It was a very smooth run.

runned over 500 fractal wich pug and rarely got big problem, but atm only doing daily 28 and 38 so all know what to do
