Why was this removed? It seems like a waste to take out a perfectly functional Dungeon route, and it leaves kitten in the story since she is still mentioned but is now inaccessible.

Well alot of people complaind that end boss was to hard, so instead of rebalancing and adding a 4th path with the aetherblade path they removed it

Why not just put it back in and adjust the rewards accordingly for the difficulty? Add a small warning to the choice dialogue that it is harder, maybe rate it at level 70 instead of 55. Let us have the complete story for those who want it, and if you don’t you can skip it.

Why not? Because they abandoned dungeons a long time ago. At best you might someday maybe see some elements of it return in a fractal.

The path wasn’t really hard, the average player was just way less skilled back then.

With the power creep that we have now a semi-competent group would melt that boss in seconds.

They didn’t know why no one was running it (boss spider spawns didn’t vanish after failing). And they just though it isn’t popular out of no reason, that’s why they just removed it. It’s total whack. Really, the idea was to ‘change’ the world be cause time passes and ‘Living World’ isn’t always the same.

It seems they abandoned that idea since they learned that it is a complete stupid idea to remove content they created, especially if you have so few content over the past 4 years.

‘would have/would’ve been’ —> correct
‘would of been’ —> wrong

Basically, Anet thought that the final encounter of the path was too easy, and “fixed” it. That fix broke the encounter, making the tree spawn infinite amount of spiders that didn’t reset on wipe. This caused players to avoid that path. Anet refused to acknowledge they made a mistake, so the path got left in that state for a long time.

In the end, it got removed to make a place for Aetherpath with the explanation that “it’s not a loss, because noone was running it”.

Would love to see it return. Always been my favorite path in my favorite dungeon.

From what I remember, the removal was due to some glitches or bugs with the newly added Aether Path, which prevented something in there to function the way it was supposed to.
This removal was supposed to be temporal while they fixed those problems. Never happened in the end. One of the many things put on ice with the abandonment of further dungeon work.

As for the difficulty, the path wasn’t any harder than the other two.
Vevina’s Path (FW or former FW/FW) has always been the hardest of the three basic paths. It was even harder back then because of the three Nightmare Knights in front of Leurent. Most did not bother with blinds which led to them wiping over and over. This was so hard for many players that they decided to rebalance it.

Times certainly changed. People would simply blow up anything in there nowadays. We hardly need to see any changes or higher rewards if they decided to bring it back.
