GW2 needs in-game LFG last decade.
We knew it was lacking 1 year ago.
They knew it was lacking 1 year ago.
same shait 1 year later.
I just don’t see how it is going to be so much easier than gw2lfg.
Sure, you won’t have to alt-tab over to the internet, but is that really that much of a chore? I guess it would make it slightly easier, but your reasoning doesn’t really “prove” that we are lacking an in game lfg.
Not that I wouldn’t use it, I just don’t see it making my life appreciably easier/better when looking to do dungeons.
After always looking for dungeon groups on map chat or gw2lfg, I decided to start a guild solely for PvE Dungeon master groups. After 6 hours of my reddit post , the guild was almost full.
This is another proof that an MMO to this magnitude is lacking one of the main features of MMO. There should be a in game lfg that can match players and be able to group them for PVE dungeon/frac/arah runs.
PS. This guild is not recruiting and it is still far from perfect since we are still trying to find better ways to group players. I just wanted to put this here so hopefully a ANET dev sees it and realized that this feature is truly needed in-game.

Okay here is what you do, you need some people you can trust and have some time. Create a guild for each dungeon, each guild has ranks for Path 1 Path 2 Path 3 Path 4 (Arah) All Paths, Storymode. You now let people join those guilds. If someone wants to do a dungeon they’ll represent the guild.
There you go an improvised LFG tool.

It is actually very simple. There are queues for each dungeon and people enlist themselves and get into the dungeon when the queue gets 5 people. Kind of like tPvP when you join without being in a group and it automatically put you in one.

No. Just no.
If I pug, I don’t want to be randomly thrown into a group. I want to read the descriptions that people advertise, such as “LF Warrior” or “need a guard” or “Friendly casual run” so I know which group to pick. And because this will be an ingame feature, I’d like to be able to hover over the poster’s name and see their level, class and AP so I can decide if I want to even bother.

Honestly gw2lfg has proven very effective to me to the extent that I don’t want to see anet’s version. I’d rather see anet focus on fixing the plethora of issues they’re already dealing with. (and tbh I’m sure an anet lfg would garner more problems than solutions)
Gee, I would have loved to be playing Guild Wars 2 a decade ago. That would have been really great.
