I though Ginva the Butcher was a kittenty boss. I thought Turmaine was a kittenty boss. I thought Belka/Brie/Crusher were annoying cheesy kittens who fight dirty by killing your FPS.
then I tried Vahid, High Priest of Melandru in melee. good party but we didn’t exactly know where the safespot was (where you don’t get hit by the green knockback kittens). holy crap, how are you supposed to do this boss without ranging for a year???
even getting to the kittenter is hard – you’re either getting perma immobilised or knocked by the annoying green things. and when you fight him, you have to dodge that one shot… not too bad, OH WAIT he spawns a kittening tree in front of you and obscures your vision.
and of course, we can’t forget our favourite gorilla adds!!! weakness and 7s knockdown? so much fun! very balanced mobs!
now I realise why nobody ever melees this boss, and why the speedrun record is ~10 months old and still uncontested. it’s pretty sad TBH – P4 was obviously meant to be the “final” and most epic dungeon path, with all the bosses and lore. too bad ANet ruined it by completely kittening up the bosses.
I will always have fond memories of Arah path four due to a single occurence the second time I did it.
The group was a composition from the friendslists of a friend and mine. One of us had a dc right before the dwayna fight and while we waited for him to rejoin, we collected enough tears to welcome him back with a giant writing of his RL name using the tears to compose the letters.

I personally prefer mesmer. Ele is rather weak in the current meta but for PvE you can make it work if you want. Don’t listen to the people that say necro isnt worth it, necro is a strong enough class. Mesmer over necro is just my personal preference.
That being said theres a big patch coming on the 15th that is introducing new traits so that elementalist might suddenly become really good or the necro might suddenly get a few buffs that make them even better.

The fire field on dagger lasts less time but is easier to hit with blast finishers due to its radius. Also there are some instances where you have time to cast churning earth for an extra blast. And comet on focus requires you to be in combat and have a target to work so it doesnt work any better than dagger for pre-stacking might.
Both dagger and focus are fine for might stacking though. And yeah focus has swirling winds and dagger has cleansing wave. So thats something to consider.
Dagger has the benefit that it’s fire field is bigger (easier to aim a blast into it), but sadly Firewall last longer.
Firegrab can be useful for some extra burst if you can kill your enemy fast enough.
Water has cleansing wave.
Air has Ride the lightning for some mobility.
Earth is meh, at least there are 2 blast finishers, tough Churning earth is slow as hell, so often it doesn’t worth to cast it.
I thought it bugs and doesnt actually blast unless theres a target. If you cast it out of combat it just lands on your head and doesnt trigger a blast.
Just tested and im correct. Comet doesnt work outside of combat. It has to hit something to trigger the blast. Its just like necros putrid mark.
Mine always lands directly on my fire field and doesnt trigger a blast. Only works when im in a fight.
Theres no need for camera manipulation to get comet to land right on top of you. Atleast thats the case for me. However i can never get DT to consistantly land on my head.
edit: I see the issue. Theres 2 particle effects although sometimes the 1 which triggers the blast doesnt appear at all so i assume it landed on top of me. :P

Not really, I find them incredibly ugly. I like the colours and the LED (lul), but I really hate how they move, their attack animations and their stupid faces. They all look like they’re kittened or something.
Also, they’re so naive… so freaking annoying! Like children. I hate children.

Watch the vid. The red circle lands exactly on top of my Flamewall and I get 3 stacks might. Simple as that.
I dunno why there’s a white circle around me when I cast it, if that’s what you mean by “split effect.” It doesn’t do anything. Probably an Anet oversight. Just ignore it.

Do people just not like making LFGs? If I look on the LFG there is often no one for many of the paths. If I add an LFG I can usually get a group fairly shortly. :/
