Game over, yo.
General Dungeon Discussion Thread - Part 1
Game over, yo.
Still a much better game. Plus you actually know there will always be content made for it.
There’s bi-weekly, expansion worth content here too, stop lying!
:^
Have you guys ever licked a lamp in winter?
I want to
Yeah…FFXIV combat just didn’t cut it for me. And talk about grindy quests O.o
Endgame is supposed to be better, but I got sick of the trinity + macros tank-and-spank around level 20.
But it might be worth pushing through since they actually add new stuff to it. For now I’m gonna go play some single player RPGs and hope something better comes along by the time I’m done.

I played the beta and got bored for the same reason tbh. Leveling and quests etc. However, now I’m facing yet another year of this game going nowhere or trying something new and putting in a bit of effort for the promise of actual endgame. So I’m gonna give it a go, especially since I can afford a sub fee now. XD
Too true, Swifty, too true :-(
Staff on the guardian is pretty viable, but very hard to play.
This makes the staff one of the hardest weapons to handle.
Although in my eyes, the scepter focus is slightly inferior, you might want to consider sticking to that most of the times and using staff in good training situations.

That guy is the main reason for the new players experience system. :/
ranique confirmed OP troll.
“viable, but hard to play”
Literally rotflmao. My coworkers are concerned.
At least he got the might stacking part right. But then he’s talking about dungeons, and compares staff to scep/focus, but not sword/focus, or even gs?

I… missed Lilith’s departure? kitten …

I can already figure out who you quoted before even clicking the link. That is how consistent that guy is in speaking out of his behind. I feel sorry for new players who listens to him bc he often posts useless/wrong information in almost every. single. thread.

kittenit winterz, I keep getting Kazul’ed by your signature.
Lel, that moment when you kazul Nike <3
Wait, you’re not Nike, are you? I remember his account name was similar to yours but I can’t remember what was it exactly. Anyway <3

Two hours into DA:O. Haven’t fought a thing, just walking around, talking to NPCs.
And loving it.
I remember why I used to laugh when folks would talk about “immersion” in GW2. “This kills my immersion”, lol what? You had immersion to kill? Everything is so flat and generic.
I don’t really blame ANet on that one, though. The NPC interactions could be far better (see ESO), but a F2P game from a small studio just can’t afford that much voice acting, I suppose. I’ve heard that’s why Trahearn is so prominent at the end of the PS — it was simply cheaper to have one voice actor do all of those parts then 10. Not sure if that’s true, but it certainly makes sense shrugs
But yeah, immersion? It’s just not there in an MMO. I’ve never seen it done well in one. ESO was the best I’ve encountered, but still fell far short of single player ES. Mighthave “felt” better if that comparison weren’t so easily made, though.
Oh well. Back to having interesting conversations with NPCs for me! :-)
Have you played SWTOR? I think they did pretty good on the immersion front. Game had other flaws though. Lots of them.
you may keep them to rear new and interesting variants in your basement.
So an update happened and now my game is stuck at 0% loading.. I was supposed to be on to help a new player out -.-
so lupi is being that much of a kitten tonight that he is not even using lube. 3 sets of 4 locusts right before the phase transition between 1 and 2. and his ranged attack hitting me in melee range when trying to solo. and add in 2 or 3 double kicks.
Any ideas about how this happened?
I had an advertisement on LFG, then it changed to this. (i still had no party)
Edit: that thief with crossed out name isn’t me
(edited by sMihaly.1492)
Congratulations, you have encountered one of the many new bugs… I mean features of the new system. Groups without groups.
Other than “weird bug” I absolutely have no idea, sorry.
As a related question: How does the game decide what lfg entry to keep if parties are merged? I had both happen, that mine was still used after someone merged and that it got replaced by the entry of the merging party. Do they keep the one with more original members in the party?

Ive had crazy crap like that happen where I was still the only one in the party. Party closing right before my eyes as I wait for it to fill. I thought a CSR hated me for quite some time.
probably a stretch to expect an actual change, but at the least we’ll get some acknowledgement on the issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2gduzj/possible_change_to_rangers_frost_spirit_coming/
If they revert the changes, I’m excited on the numbers to see how much more dps a group can crank out with ranger in it.
So did everyone have fun gaming over the weekend? My DA:O play through has been an insane amount of fun, it is easily one of the best RPGs I’ve ever seen =D Can’t wait to see DA:I…
How’s AA early-access looking? FFXIV? D3?

Used to happen to me all the time.
It gets worse— wait until he starts running away from you and bubbling while you’re standing directly beneath him without moving.

you finished it all already?
including amgarrak, awakening, witch hunt?
oh man i’m so conflicted between working on my me2 or da:o playthrough right now
i’m @ brecilian forest done as the last quest before doing the landsmeet but in me2 i’m a lot earlier on but want to unlock assault rifles by powering through to the collector ship mission

Don’t forget the infamous stealth, shadow step to npc, rubber band back and shoot you.
Frost Spirit is fixed, ICD gone, tested. And it can proc or not proc for each individual hit in a channel.
Pugged Lvl 40 fractal, not only did guardian do an efficient and smart Aegis rotation, but also used wall efficiently. Whole fractal took about 40 minutes with mossman, Cliffside, Dredge, mai trinn (8 minute mai trinn, from trash to end )
Today was a good day.
Does the Asura golem still do massive dps?
Does the Asuka golem still do massive dps?
No, tried and it was awful, back to the “never touching this kitten again” pile that are elite skills.

Rune of the Golemancer typically confuses a lot of pugs when I run it on my Asura guardian. They think I’m using the golem elite, lol…

Never gonna get tired of this video being relevant.

haha can’t believe Dub had a video of this. Actually I can, that poor dub.

You should get us some drinks for that and ANet should introduce an achievement for such runs. Pug Master.

Heh, far from finished. Put about 20 hours in, just got to Redcliffe — I like to go slow and enjoy the depth of, well, everything in that game Hours of chatting with folks at party camp, reading the codex…plus my version came with all of the DLC, so I’ve got a long ways before I can call it done! Just having a ton of fun so far, and since the regulars here seem to be quiet, I assume we’ve all turned to other games and wanted to see what we’re all up to.
Oh ME. I only played one of them, but again, wonderful, amazing depth. <3 Bioware.
I’m rather curious how AA was for headstarters. Since it launches today I guess I’ll find out soon if that grind is worth it. But first, DA:O because OMG STORY AND NPCs AND HAPPINESS.
Never gonna get tired of this video being relevant.
Lupi #1 troll, 10/10
Just did another scale of the twenties in fractals and my coin reward at the end was 3 copper! ^^ (This was like my 3rd run in this scale)

Not many people were fans of it but I really enjoy the Orzammar section of the game. The circle tower is nice too. Also I hope you played a dalish elf, best origin alongside dwarf noble :p
awww, I picked casteless dwarf…
…this time.
Also, every time I get another infraction point, the level-up drumroll from fallout plays in my head…
You guys are tempting me to buy DA:O. o:
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
doooooooo ittttttttttttttt. $30 for the game and all DLC on steam, definitely worth the money if you miss immersion.
I finally accepted that this game will never be what I want it to be, what it could be, what it presented itself to be at launch. Watching people struggle against these truths in the forums is making me sad now
And for the added replay value, add some mods into your DA:O run once you’ve finished it vanilla. Pretty nice.
I bought the ultimate (DA origins w/all DLC) for £5/$8 from my local GAME a little while ago, so you can get it even cheaper if $30 was too much for you.
awww, I picked casteless dwarf…
if you picked a dalish, you would see where my warrior’s last name originates from
:p
You guys are tempting me to buy DA:O. o:
first playthrough was ~70 hours
completed the game about 6 1/2 times (working on a full 7th right now)
done lots of different stuff to get different endings and options in quests (there are like four different ways to end the game in regards to the player and their party – but all the things you do in-game affect the aftermath)
amazing character banter
must buy $$$$$$
And for the added replay value, add some mods into your DA:O run once you’ve finished it vanilla. Pretty nice.
Absolutely 100% do your first playthrough of DA:O and all of its DLCs/expansions vanilla.
If you do second playthroughs and so on though – I’d recommend improved atmosphere (makes cities and camp seem more alive, among other things), dragon age redesigned set to the recommended option (doesn’t touch any companion appearances but adjusts hundreds of NPCs in-game to give them more “flavour” and better representative of their roles in the game), and then there’s other things like disabling weapon auras, enabling the console which allows you to do things like debug certain sidequests, give you weapons/armours you may have missed (e.g. certain rewards dependent on how you handle major plot points, certain weapons/armours you want but weren’t able to afford and you can download cosmetic mods and morphs if you want to be able to make a nicer/cooler looking character (ranges across from completely lore unfriendly hairstyles/faces/etc. to very “normal” though fantasy-ish appearances and then just complete normal).
You can find all of that stuff on the dragon age nexus.
I’m probably going to get hanged but… I never liked the gameplay of DA or ME.
Understandable. I disliked Fallout 3+ because of the change from 1/2
Fair enough, but at least they put out expansions amirite :P
Funny that you bring up FO, my first thought when entering combat in DA was “ooo, it’s sorta like V.A.T.S!”
Eat words, you nasty bug!
2m FC is stronk.
