Lately me and my guild have been running nearly all paths in AC, Caudecus, TA and CoF on daily basis but these tend to get a bit boring after a few days. We still haven’t really done any of the other dungeons, is there a thread where I can read more about HotW, CoE, Arah etc.? (:

It’s better to go right first and then to the first boss (because of the door that opens after you have done all golem scraps). Take 3 points in Shadow Arts and choose Master of Deception. 2 points in acrobatics for the movement speed increase. Use smoke screen + shortbow blasts first and make sure that the NPC is stealthed too (this was the no.1 reason mobs were aggroed on me back when I didn’t know what caused it).

Take 30 in SA to also get Infusion of Shadow and Patience, not just 15 for Master of Deception. Retraiting is free and quick, so take all the help you can get. Might as well go 20 in Acrobatics for Quick Recovery and 15 in Trickery for the larger Init pool and Thril of the Crime too.

EDIT: trying to think of where the last 5 points should go. Maybe in Trickery for Long Reach. Yeah, let’s go with that. So the most useful CM p1 solo-thief spec for the first part is: 0/0/30/20/20.

EDIT 2: Something else I forgot to mention. When you’re stacking stealth w/ SS + Cluster spam, you need to set your Ground Targeting option to “Instant.” You also need to click your Cluster Bomb skill so it targets your location (ik, it kills me to click skills too, but this time it actually helps). You need to click Cluster Bomb as soon as the previous Area Stealth heart appears, meaning approximately 1 Cluster Bomb click per sec, no faster than that. You should be able to get in 6 Area Stealth hearts via Cluster Bombs before SS expires.

EDIT 3: Forgot another cool trick! Blinding Powder is a Blast Finisher, so for longer stealth when, for example, you’ve already gotten to an orange gear thingy and you’re spamming interact and the NPC isn’t coming and your stealth is about to run out, swap to d/p and use Black Powder + Blinding Powder. Boom! Extra Stealth! Then if you need more cause that stupid NPC got stuck on the way to you or something, Black Powder + HS spam against a wall (luckily most of the orange gear thingies are near walls). d/p + SB so OP.

That’s all good and right, but not necessary at all, because you should always have enough init and stealthing the NPC will prevent her from being stuck somewhere. Anyway, it’s useful advice on how you could stealth even longer. Reminds me of myself permastealthing on a button in the dredge cage while my whole team dies… everyone dead… 1 min later… I’m still stealthed

Sent them back some of the 1.5 gold I take cuz I messed up on the final boss thrice v.v. But, all was good in the end because I taught my 2 customers after it was all over how to use FGS properly. Felt good

They reset if no one is in the instance… Learned it the hard way when doing lvl 49 solo. >_>

Haha, made it after some failed attempts because the boss (Cpt. Ashym) spawned FGS. A useful trick: spamming P/P 3 with Skelk Venom so the NPCs can survive his agony attack longer and HOPE he will deal less damage to them.
I could imagine this boss being very easy on warrior… battle standard and NPCs would be back up…. Unfortunately no time to solo Cliffside and not even sure if thief can do it :/

A couple guildies and I just did AC and we opened up the extra slots for people at the end. We had a mesmer join and argue that we can’t do AC because it’s contested, he argued for about 3 minutes before finally leaving the group; we were standing at the last boss.

Oy, what a bad Arah run last night. Die, die, fail, die. That’s what I get for not stepping foot in it for 2-3 months
