Giganticus Lupicus resets
I was in this guys group (after having to change server so I could actually play this dungeon) and there were always people on him in HIS range as we DO understand that his ranger is shorter than ours.
No matter how many we were (even three) within the boss, in the arena, he still managed to reset…..
Only since latest patch?
Did the people in range damage him or just run into the room as the “last” person died?

Nope, at one point when he reset there were three of us right up to him and another mele’ing. Damage was definitely being done…
moar dots! that should prevent resets. he’s usually fixated on one person and if they happen to run out and no dots on him he will reset.
The strange thing about this, though, is that the way he is resetting is a way I have NEVER experienced before. I have run this particular path/dungeon a fare few times and have never seen this happen.
Yes, he resets quite often and has been doing so for quite a while. Some common things to check for is if a thief in your party has the trait that automatically stealths you at a specific % of HP. This one has cause a reset many times for me.
If he is however, resetting more than usual as you seem to indicate, then that’s a huge problem. Arah really doesn’t need more bugs than what it already has >.<

lupicus is usually focusing 1 specific person. If that person leaves his aggro, and his aggro is not instantly (literally instantly) regained, he’ll reset.
This happens most to me when someone stealths my friend (who is usually the lupicus target)
Try bringing a necro along, their bleeds usually prevent lupicus from ever resetting as long as the necro is alive.
Oh and ive never seen a lupicus reset in phase 3, so I dunno whats going on there if that’s the case.

Would you not see yourself as stealth-ed? Didn’t notice it, but there was a thief. Really not sure it was that though.

We had a necro present and he was alive, as part of the three that were on him even when he reset. So, he had dots, we were WELL inside is range of aggro (the Guardian was even mele’ing and there was constant damage.
Should have frapsed. Will do next time, just in case
Sorry, I was a bit unclear. The thief stealths himself when he reaches 25%(?) HP.

Ok, so I have just tried this again with a completely different group with the same issue. Has anyone actually completed him since the patch?
This is ridiculous. Again, we had people right on him he ghosted to me, right next to them and then reset once he killed me.
Did him 3 times today, (path 1,2,3) no resets at all.
As far as I can tell there are two ways to “reset” him:
1. The player he want’s to attack (charge or melee attack in phase 2, dome or single target life drain in phase 3) ist stealthed
2. The player he wants to attack is not in the room cause he moved out of the door to get out of combat (also this happens not always)
Avoid these two thins and he wont reset. Of course, if you have a Thief in your group that has at least 5 points in Shadow Arts it’s like gambling until the change Lupi to ignore Stealth at all.

The usual problem is ppl running out of shadow walk range at the “lotsa red circles on the ground” event. You stated you were in his range, so it could be a new bug, that said I just killed him a few hours ago and whilst I felt some mechanics changed subtly, experienced no resets.
Happened to my group as well. We were about to pull him into his final phase, no one was out of range (I was stabbing him in the legs) and he randomly reset, regenerated, and then immediately attacked us again.

I’ve stopped running PUGs with this dungeon, it’s just too frustrating.
This has to be a considered a bug. The thief’s signature move is the stealth and therefore in no circumstances should lupicus reset due to a player being invisible. Not even if all the players are invisible (there should be a timer in this circumstance) !
This boss is already overpowered as is, especially for thiefs who have zero defense skills or traits. I have spent 6 hours today trying to kill this boss (with different groups) with no success. I even changed my entire gear (full exotic) to have the maximum vitality and toughness. Having more than 1 thief in your party makes this boss almost impossible to kill. At one point this becomes frustrating.
His resets are also like none i have ever seen before. He resets to full health instantly and not gradually like every other creature in the game. This should be fixed. Leaving his range should not trigger a reset either, however i agree that leaving the arena should cause the boss to run back and recover health gradually (not instantly) leading to a potential reset.
I had a several Thiefs in my PuGs so far and only those who insisted on engaging him in melee during phase 2 had problems. Not only with Lupi but with me and the rest of the group too.

Actually, it triggers blinding powder which is an AoE stealth so it also stealths your whole party if the thief happens to get downed in phase 1 which is guaranteed reset there.

Try pumping 15 points into acrobatics for swiftness on dodge, endurance regain on dodge and Vigorous Recovery which grants 10+1 seconds of vigor and use Withdraw as your heal skill (15 second cooldown+Vigorous Recovery = lulz) for infinite dodge. Use superior runes of the adventurer for overkill.

Tried doing Arah Path 2 over the weekend and this guy still resets very easily. We did have a thief in the party. I guess we should not bring thieves to this guy? This guy is hard enough as it is without him resetting so easily. Do devs play this game?!

We’re TRYING to do it in 2m40s but it’s so hard.

What no…don’t do that…if everyone did that I could never again bring my thief to Arah…
But if you’re really worried (I’m not), just tell him to maybe retrait and to not stealth; using Withdraw as the heal skill instead.

One other thing is make sure the thief either doesnt have the trait that puts down the stealth on rez, or not to rez people.
Lupicus has one of the weirdest aggro’s in the game. During phases 2 and 3 he latches onto individual players for some, or all of his skills. In Phase 2, this means the same player will constantly have lupicus teleporting to them. In phase 3, one player gets to be his life drain target, and/or his bubble target. If this player goes down, and is then stealthed by a thief who decides to come rez them, lupicus has lost his main target, if his aggro is not immediately re-applied then he can basically reset right there 2ft away staring down at where you just were.
