Giganticus almost Impossibus.
Lupi takes 10 minutes at most, unless you use the “die, respawn and then die some more” tactic, which, in my book, is okay.
You can dodge the “green blob poison attack” you just have to do it at the right moment. It’s kinda like a the rock some of the huge worms throw just faster. Due to its animation it’s rather hard to detect before it hits you, but it’s doable.
His other skills are also predictable. The “missle barrage” just hits targets in front of him, the AoE life drain and the poision AoE are shown as a red circle so you can avoid them. Only the single target life drain can be a little tricky if he targets a player with low health.
My only concern with this boss is, that it’s not the endboss of each path. But that’s just because it feels a little odd that the toughest boss is not the last to deal with.

I didnt complain about any of his other skills. Youre making the case that “His other skills are also predictable” when I didnt complain about his other skills. I complained about that one skill and his health pool. You even stated that "Due to its animation it’s rather hard to detect before it hits you, but it’s doable. " Thats like saying, well the car will die on you for no reason during your trip, you wont see it coming. Its rather hard to start up again, but it’s drivable. Yeah, I want that car!
The boss is NOT on par with the other bosses in this instance and not you or anyone else can say he is. Once again, to try to say he is fine is to make the argument that the other bosses need to be just as hard as he is, if you do not, you’re being a hypocrite, plain and simple. Not being disrespectful its just the way I see it.

No boss in this Arah Exp mode is this hard
Simin is a lot more difficult. (Seer’s Path)
Somehow both path 2 and 4 leaded to this boss which we couldnt kill. Also he resets mid fight.

All Arah paths lead to this fight.
Although on path 1 he’s hardest because of a missing(?) waypoint.
Not this again.
It’s really not that hard. Here’s a video of the group I run with clearing it:
The video is not from my POV (I’m the mesmer), but you get the point. Sure, our elementalist has a rough time of it because he tends to focus and she is the squishiest person in our group, but it is by NO MEANS “impossibus”. I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

The other bosses probably ARE to easy, given it’s the explorable mode of the last dungeon and most of the encounters are quite easy.

OP heres an apple. Take it:)
Also, this boss compared to the other boss is better:) Once you get used to fighting it, you will enjoy it;) It is possible to pug Lupicus without 1 single whipe, or 1 single death in the group. Whats important is experience. Players in your group, even if they are Pugs, if they know what to expect it makes a huge difference;) Even if they have no experience, it can still be done without any wipes. The none experienced player might die 2-3x though:o

This was just to illustrate that p3 isn’t that hard.

Your car example is just wrong, cause the “green blob poison attack” – as you called it – actually is dodge- and detectable. I said it’s hard to detect, not impossible, that’s a huge difference.

Yes, I think most other bosses in Arah should be buffed a litte cause they are way to easy.

I think this boss is a little overtuned as well, especially on path 1 where you can’t pull him closer to a waypoint, and the waypoint is 10 minutes away. The rest of the dungeon is fun, difficult, but then you get to this guy and it’s just a brick wall. I won’t even step in Arah again until some changes are made with this guy, it just isn’t fun at all :\
It’s funny, we only pulled him to the waypoint once, and that was cause we had 3 glass cannons in our PUG that had no chance to survive p2 (cause they also couldn’t dodge).
Once everybody knows how lupi works, he’s not that hard.

Just did three paths, with a PUG (members changing inbetween paths), and we didn’t wipe a single time. I think Giganticus is one of the best bosses in the game currently.
Now, Simin on the other hand…

If you think this boss needs to be the benchmark then you ARE an elitist jerk (pun in reference to the website). People like you are what takes the fun out of a game. You like to stand on your soap box and proclaim to the world how easy everything is for you, therefore everyone needs to rise up to your level right? Your narcissism is obvious. You and everyone like you that says “Oh its too easy” are freaking annoying man. Hopefully we can all rise to your level of play.

Have you ever thought that you’re not supposed to kite him to a waypoint and zerg him down and instead, fight him in his room?

Let me get this straight: You say that, expect for lupi, the bosses in Arah are fine?
Seriously? You can do most of them with pugs that even don’t know how those bosses work without wiping more than one or two times per boss. In most cases there is no special mechanic, it’s just tank and spank (okay, rather kite and spank). Path 1 is a little bit more complicated, cause there are not that much waypoints and some bosses having a lot of health, but the rest is easily doable in less than two hour. Path 3 takes even just one hour, plus ~10 minutes for lupi. And this is with pug, I’m not talking about organized groups here.
So, back to lupi, what’s so hard about him?
Phase 1 is a little bit boring, cause you do nothing else but stand there and nuke him down to 75%. Every know and then you drop some AoEs to get rid of the insects or you focus on the grubs as soon as they spawn.
Phase 2 is a little bit confusing if you do it the first time, but it’s a lot easier if you just pull Lupi out of the arena. Split up so he won’t hit the whole team and when someone is low on health just run away to be safe or, if you want to, get out of combat to regain health. If someone gets downed, what will probably happen a lot, just wait until he turns into the cloud before you rezz him and everything is fine. To avoid his “locust swarm charge” you don’t even need to dodge, you can just run straight through him as long as he moves towards you, this way neither of his attacks hits you. And if you have an aegis guardian this phase is just tank and spank.
In Phase 3 you can work with immobilize effects to control lupi if some players have problems to avoid his attacks (just make sure to don’t waste them while his buff is still up). Of course, this is a lot easier if you use teamspeak.
In my experience only those players that run one of those stupid glass cannon builds or think that every boss allows them to be in melee most of the time have some problems with p2 and p3. I’ve seen Eles with 10k health not dying ones against lupi, but this is not something I would expect form everyone. If you are not that good, just go a little more tanky and less glasscannony.

Agree, easy fight(if someone explains to you), did it last night for first time, we didn’t even moved him from the room.
And was a pug, iirc was a mesmer, ele, necro, warrior and guardian(me).
~Piken Square~
We just killed him with 2 players that never fought him before, he went down first try. Actually Dwayna (Seer Path) was way more difficult cause she’s bugy as hell, I’m happy that I don’t need to do path 4 again.

I wish all the fights were like Giganticus, difficulty-wise. At LEAST.

Yes please. Fun dodge Mechanics, massive size, looks scarey. I want more!
One of the best fights yet! The fact that my group didn’t one shot him the first time is usually a good sign!
I think it’s hilarious to instead of learning his mechanics (not that tough) people decided to spend 10 minutes kitting him to a way point and then racking up repair bills to kill him? no wonder they are complaining they are making it way worse on themselves (First time hearing of this strategy).
- Xhaine
Downed him on jotun path with a PuG.
First try
With a first timer
Only one person died (first timer) about halfway into phase 2.
I think we had like, 5 downs the whole time? (2 in phase 2, 3 in phase 3. 2 of the ones in phase 3 rallied off lupicus dying, so lol)
it’s definitely doable. Even with a PuG.
Boss isn’t hard people just like to complain ebcause they don’t like learning mechanics. I hope anet fixes this boss so people can’t kite him anymore
