Gorseval/Sabetha Druid PoVs
Gorseval: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVbXoR9GStg
Sabetha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB-mMUDslsABoth are done in pugs, sabetha was a last cannon run.
I seem to get druids each week who focus too much on trying to camp staff and get out heals rather than balancing skill usage around the mechanics, as well as not using buffs when possible.
Cleric staff guardian syndrome. People are deadset on a role and don’t want to be flexible. It’s most notable in top 50 raiding guilds in WoW in terms of healers, you have healers DPS’ing in between slow heal periods and they often do the DPS of a mediocre dedicated DPS.
Crappy healers just heal and don’t help push phases/adds.

It depends on the group, really. For a group largely consisting of mediocre players who eat Gorseval slams and who fail to dodge Sabetha cannon fire, leaving staff is essentially consigning the group to death. In groups where players play perfectly and no one is getting hit when they shouldn’t, then you can sit in your damage weapon set and dish it out. For pubs, oftentimes Druids make the assumption that their team is going to get hit a lot and so they don’t prepare for the case where that’s not true.
Ultimately, your mileage may vary.
