HOTW Path 1: Aldus Stormbringer summoning mobs. Bug or not?

Tried to go through path 1 of HOTW, and got up to Aldus Stormbringer. I’ve ran this dungeon numerous times pre-patch, and now, all of a sudden, he summons numerous mobs when he didn’t before. Is this a bug, or were all those times before lucky breaks?

He summons mobs when a player respawn or dies.

5x Warrior, 5x Ranger, 4x Elementalist, 4x Engineer,
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant

What mobs? This the one that afk casts ice spells?

Just failed it. Friday night 10/12/12. I’ve run this path like 5 times, with zero problems. Now he spawns countless adds and we gave up.
