Dunno either, i even solo the device part in p1 with my thief and stealth ppl but its takes time to get ppl and its your average staffguard or bearbow

I run all 3 CM paths fairly often. It’s a pretty fun dungeon.

Turmaine is kind of annoying to fight because invulnerability is a stupid mechanic.

I run CM 1,3 often also I am a proud Quip Owner

I think CM is best played with at least 1 thief in the party for those good stealth skips

CM doesn’t have a bad rep. Its just that like TA its one of the less rewarding dungeon. With CoF, HotW and CoE you can transform your token into rare to salvage (+ CoE have some sweet loots). With AC and SE you can transform token in exotic to salvage (for Soldier Inscription/Insignias). With Arah, well its challenging and if you are good you can make good money out of it.

CM and TA on the other hand don’t bring any of these advantages. Yes its rewarding, yes you can run them pretty fast, yes you have good gold bonus at the end. But all that can be said about any dungeon.

1) It has a low level requirement, ton of sub80s think they can do it.
2) A fast run depends on reflecting projectiles and stealth.

Considering the average skill levels of the pug population, CM is usually something I do last.

CM is probably the second most difficult dungeon set in game after Arah. It’s very punishing if you don’t bring reflects and cleanses, many of the mobs hit very very hard, and the trash runs can be brutal if you skip without a thief to the point that most people will clear most mobs rather than skip if they can’t stealth by them. Once you know the dungeon it can be fast though, even if you carry pugs through it.

It’s one of my favorite dungeons in the game because it punishes people that don’t know the dungeon or that don’t have decent skill, has some fun mechanics, has a unique (if underused setting), and has some interesting easter eggs in it. Most people hate running it though for many of the same reasons why I like it, go figure.

CM is an amazing dungeon. I run it almost daily. It sure is a PUG destroyer though – those bleeds, ooft.

They are short paths, so I can understand the 1g reward, and it also isn’t difficult as long as you have 1 Guardian using appropriate reflection and condition removal. Oh, I guess that’s why, as all PUG Guardians are a staff-camping AHer.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the reward bumped up to beyond where it “should” be, just to make it more active content. Wonder if it would be more run if it was 1.5g/path.

RT and HC did an all cleric run of cm p1 with dodge unbound, didn’t they? Guess I was wrong saying you can’t heal and tank in this game :P

Just go afk and autoattack does the whole dungeon for you.

And flissy! I play how I want! You can’t tell me where the bleeds came from, that’s your opinion. And when I cleanse those bleeds with Pure of voice I gain buffs which then heal me through Altruistic Healing so I can facetank the projectiles too! Stop oppressing my play style.

You can get rabid gear from CM. Salvage exotic tier stuff for inscriptions. Not a great amount of reward for the work but it helps.

That being said I think CM is pretty kitten easy, dunno why people think its hard at all.

Zealot? But that gives power and precision. I need more toughness and vitality in my build so I can out dps the noob zerkers. Dead dps = no dps.

There is a noticeable reward for CM p3. The recipe for the last boss, if you can get it, allows crafting of a dire stats accessory that sells for like 6g+.

Plague, the path 2 recipe is one of the most valuable in game, it usually trades places with the bloodstone shard for being the most valuable recipe. Most people don’t like to or don’t know how to fight Turmaine,. though.

He absolutely is a pain in the D. You basically need to exploit by trapping him sadly. People too accustomed to the barrel thing (which was a lot of fun, never forget!)

one of my favorite dungeon but if dont find a friend\guild group rarely pug it, is too much easy trasform this dungeon in a nightmare

I was so happy when they got rid of the exploit where you jumped over the mountain to the last boss, but I was sad when they got rid of the barrel damage. Stacking them up in the shed and bringing them out at the right time felt like using tactics. I may have been kidding myself, but I was still sad to see it go.

As for rewards, I think all the non-Arah dungeons should reward 1 gold, except for the hardest path which should be 1.5.

Weirdly I’ve been running into a lot of novice groups through lfg recently. There was this guardian who was really impressed when I told him about how useful Wall of a Reflection was doing path 3 and ran forward in the hall full of rocket launchers and placed one right in front of a launcher…

I run this with my thief which makes things extra easy, yet this is the dungeon i get the most inexperienced players and by “inexperienced” i mean “lets agro everything even though we have a thief”

“RNG” drops shouldn’t really be implemented as the possible reward. As I said earlier in the thread, I run this almost daily (all 3 paths) and I’m yet to receive a Bonetti’s Rapier.

The final boss is okay I find, I just don’t like the part with the bombs. I only done p2 with guildies and I imagine that part would be a pug killer. Overall p2 just feels longer than most speed dungeon runs to qualify as a speed run.

Nope they dissapear. So be sure to keep holding it, and aggro Wahlen only!
Wahlen is still possible even without the gun, but much slower (see the 20k hits?)

If you keep at max range all of his projectiles are easily dodgable by just strafing left-right when you see his animation when he’s about to throw a grenade. This way its still possible to kill him in ~5-10 minutes

:D you can afk on the rock behind the boss (where you see me /cheering) when you have the boss low. (you can even hit him without him able to hit you, yay afk fight)

Yea I noticed that on the 2nd round. Also tried P1 but bloody Victoria proved to be rather impossible. Other than that it’s easier to solo than p3.

At least if you’re going to solo, could you please post pictures of yourselves dancing in the waterfall? That was really the big purpose of this thread.

The problem I have with CM is that it just doesn’t feel dungeon-esque. As my friend once said to me, “this isn’t a dungeon this is a freaking house robbery!” lmao.

I will admit that it is actually pretty fun to play (tough as hell to solo on a warrior) but it doesn’t really give me a satisfying vibe playing through it. Maybe I’d like it more if it wasn’t daylight ingame during it, who knows.

does anyone know more about this place .

was really bummed i could not go back and check it out again but that was my favorite part of cm

As far as I remember, I was still able to enter it after Sept 28th, 2012. Even better, we recorded it. The vid got posted 7 months ago on our guild channel right here
(that channel has uploaded a vid of us doing p1 duo/solo as well, but that got nerfed)

I am still able to visit this place, although I haven’t been able to get the room spinning again
I did not test if the “normal entrance” of that hidden room still teleports you back while giving you might&protection for 15 minutes, so you might wanna check that yoruself. Tomorrow I’ll be able to test again and record if I find anything

Regarding the p1 solo run, theres a vid somewhere in this forum of a warrior doing Bloody Victoria solo. Im sure its still possible on thief as well, although it would stress the hell out of you. The first boss and endboss are still afk-able (even though they removed the house) and I might record it someday.
