There is so many people saying how great reflect is in fotm but really in harpy level it seems to be becoming less useful and the mechanics dont fit in with the rest of the game.

Examples: More and more people are using bodyblocking bugs like necro wurm to stop the harpy knockdown instead of reflects due to the balls going over or through reflects.

More thiefs are using smokescreen to simply block the projectiles (absorb) vs reflect

Old Tom is the best example of where reflects make no sense. Why should only certain skills stop his bolts? As a guardian, it seems completly ridiculous that wall of reflect does not reflect any of his projectiles. YES PROJECTILES. Sure shield avenger works but what is this game evolving into, “You can reflect some projectiles, and others you cant, even though they are projectiles too”.

Consistency please.

Sure shield avenger works but what is this game evolving into, “You can reflect some projectiles, and others you cant, even though they are projectiles too”.

For me, it’s totally okay when a projectile flies over a reflect/absorb. I consider that a mistake of the player for putting them in a bad position.

I do, however, completely agree with the point about Old Tom. It appears that his projectiles can be absorbed, but cannot be reflected. Perhaps this is to prevent the players from using this as a means of dps, but I think a better solution in that case would have been to simply have reflect skills absorb instead in this case (ie. not reflect back for dps). You have to admit that Feedback would be pretty insanely amazing against Old Tom if it reflected for damage.

While we’re talking about this fractal—Rob, please lower the HP of the bloody Ettin/Flame Shaman. They are not even a difficult fight, they just have a billion HP and it’s not fun. Thanks.

While we’re talking about this fractal—Rob, please lower the HP of the bloody Ettin/Flame Shaman. They are not even a difficult fight, they just have a billion HP and it’s not fun. Thanks.

Yeah, I agree that there needs to be consistency when classifying attack types. Is Tom’s multiple poison shot attack a barrage of projectiles or something else?

The high HP problem exists in pretty much every dungeon and fractals. I just did HoTW path 2 last night to help a friend. Whenever I fight the two legendary icebrood marauders, I just want to fall asleep. Just like the ettin/flame shaman, they do the same attack sequence for the whole 5 or so minutes it takes to kill them.

When doing late night HotW runs I used to nodd off for minutes at a time whilst spamming the 1 key.

But back on topic, yes reflect is sometimes broken. I’m perfectly OK with absorb working as intended, but when reflect does nothing to a ranged attack I’m rather peeved.

+1 for Rising dusk’s nerf idea.

on the topic of old tom, while his poison bolts can only be destroyed/absorbed, his one shot bolt can be reflected for around 15-20k damage.
