Story, of course. We are newbs.
Dont open all the coffins at once at the beginning. Just…dont. You will regret it.

Ok! A no worries on the newbs, always room to get better.
But i will say that in my experience i found AC story to be the hardest of most of the stories. Not impossible. Just not easy.
You should watch out when pulling regular Silver-Ringed mobs. Trust me a group of 2-3 mobs can sometimes be harder then some of the bosses just because of them running around and attacking multiple people.
I suggest a couple things.
- Mark Targets with Ctrl+T. Helps allies focus fire correctly. Focus fire is important in certain areas to burn targets down.
- Look at enemy abilities and learn to expect them. Mobs have small descriptions of their attacks right under their HP bar.
- Run, dodge, and dip the heck outta every red circle you see. Dont be suprised to see the AoEs the bosses activate do more dmg then them actually focusing and hitting you.
- Pets can tank pretty well. Rangers should have high hp and armor pets to send against mobs you dont want to bother with yet.
- Dodging… as long as your not dodging into a trap or to your doom you should be dodging ALOT, you shouldnt have your endurance bar full most of the time.
- Support – Heal your friends, Rezzing takes (most of the time) around 2-4sec. Do it, you dont want people running back all the time or the fight turns into a Tag-In/Tag-Out fight with people dying as others are making their way backs. Usually ends up with a wipe and bosses regening back to full.
- Play smart. You dont always have to be attacking the boss. Attack when its smart, when its safe, and when you have an escape. Too often people will pull aggro trying to be the savior and then panic when they have it and die.
- Use LoS to your advantage against ranged enemies. In AC especially the guys with bows do some pretty ridiculous dmg if left to their own devices. Pull mobs back and around walls and kite. If an enemy is chasing you down and your running away, every second is a second your allies get free hits in while your running for your life. (As a guardian this tends to happen to me alot)
Last and most importantly, dont give up. It will seem ridiculously hard at first. You will die, you will spend money repairing, you most likely might get frustrated. But its designed to push ur playing to the limits. I never seen PvE that needed so much more skill then just knowledge. Coordination is key.
Thats my 2 cents. Good luck with AC!

thank you for the help

Yeah first room you’ll walk into is a room full of coffins and a locked door at the end of the room. Opening the chests will spawn little spiders, silver-ringed enemies, or cause a Gatekeeper Boss to spawn in which you have to fight in order to unlock the door at the end of the room.
(last tip)
- “Curiosity killed the cat”. And everyone in the party too. It happens.

I remember what a shock to the system AC story was my first time. Really have to up your level of play and communicate with your team to win, but it’s very satisfying to do so. Just ran a group through there again earlier in the week, and man what a difference the confidence and familiarity makes. Felt downright easy :P
I’m surprised nobody mentioned BOULDERS.
Seriously, boulders are like a security blanket for AC story. And downright necessary for a certain “couple”.
Hehe, yes ALL the boulders!

This man speaks truth. Boulders are you best friends.

Healing Spring on the Rangers.
Thief/Ele should bring anti-projectile for the enemy rangers.
Thief should bring Shadow Refuge for stealth rezz.
Would make things considerably easier.
My advice, is to make sure you have ample time to complete it. I remember back when i first did it. Random PUG group i made, i had no idea about anything in the instance and neither did anyone else. Constant deaths/wipes/graveyard running. Took us like 3.5 hours to complete (huge chunk of that was on the lovers). Also get used to dodging. Its something you rarely/never need to use in solo PvE, but it is your life-line in dungeons.
With an offhand pistol thief spamming blindness, you can facetank all silver mob trash forever. Should make your signet warrior happy. Boring for the thief though.
Trivializes those enemy ranger encounters people keep complaining about.
