Hi,
I just got to lvl22 but one thing is bugging me: i only have 15 AR and no accessible way of getting more soon.

On the other hand i just got my second ascended ring from the random drop (this time at least it’s infused) but the overall stats are not interesting, besides i already have rings for the longest time (i know, made a mistake with the laurels, should’ve gone for the trinkets if only i knew i’d be having these many surplus of rings).

Now, besides these 2 rings sitting at the bank (i have very little interest in going all the way up again on an alt) i also have already 11 Pristine Fractal Relics for yet another ring.

On to the real frustrating part: if at least i wanted to infused my current rings for the extra 10 AR, i only have 3 vials of condensed mists essence and 1 single glob of coagulated mists essence.

Sure i can aim to get the 40 laurel +50 ecto acessories and eventually get more essence drops, but i’m sort of a casual, my schedule doesn’t allow me a consistent gameplay time to hit all dailies, sadly but true – sometimes i struggle to complete the monthly… So the laurel road may be lenghtier than it may seem…

Any shortcut route for me? You can see the frustration of having good enough drops for an alt, but not for my main character.

It seems like you’ve already answered your own question.

This is one of Anet’s time gates that force you to really just put the time (laurels) and effort (tokens) into it. The good new, though, is that merely doing fractals will help you complete a lot of the dailies: fractal runner, condition remover, kill veterans, aqua slayer, etc.

15 AR should get you through 2x FotM even if you fail some dodges anyway.

Pretty much this, I’ve ran 3x with less.. granted it was with friends.

Find a guild that does guild missions – 12 commendations and 5(?) gold will get you accessories. It may take a while to get but probably much less time then 40 laurels.

On the infused rings front – at personal level 22, if you do a lvl 28 fractal you should be getting the crystallized essence, which you can downscale into coagulated/vial as needed. I usually get one every 5-6 fractals, but I do have 100%+ magic find. I agree the fact that its an RNG drop only is a little frustrating, but keep doing lvl 28s until you get your personal level up there, and I bet you by that time you’ll be able to infuse at least one ring. Bare in mind pre-infused rings also have a chance to drop. (I got one in a 28 at reward lvl 25).

If all else fails you can grind the 1800 or so relics for the ascended back piece. Assuming you haven’t wasted your relics on bags or something, you should have it easily before you hit 30.

Start saving for a back piece, either gold for a quiver or fractal relics for a capacitor. It’s gonna take awhile for that, took 80g to get quiver of a thousand arrows. Look for a guild to do missions with for your trinkets, on reset night there are some guilds who do public missions (GASM hosts missions on Dragonbrand server ~10 minutes after reset) Also remember you can break down ascended crafting items you get from FOTM.

Break down ascended crafting items? I’ve seen transmutes using the mystic forge… Do you mean this http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Glob_of_Coagulated_Mists_Essence recipes? Or something else entirely?

So I’m a bit old school, but back in the early days of fractals, unless you grinded out the 2k~ish relics at 1-9 the only way you could get AR is by playing fractals at level 10+.

This taught people to dodge the attacks rather than survive them with AR.

So looking at it, 0 AR level 10s = 12% a tick

15AR level 20s = 12% a tick.

Look up some videos to learn the tells for various boss’s agony attacks so you can avoid them. Except for Jade Maw (where 15 AR is plenty for 20s), all the attacks are 100% avoidable.

Yes, I mean those recipes. Throw the crystalline essence in the mystic forge with a salvage kit and some dust to convert it to coagulated essence.

Step 1) Find a decent guild/group for fotm (they wont force you to have 2000 AR, because apart from maw you don’t need any)
