Yes, using “effect LOD” solves the problem, however it also remove important effect, like water fields, fire fields, AoEs.

Yeah the only way to fix the clusterkitten of particles is to turn that on but then you miss out on important AoE’s and such so it is pretty badly designed in that aspect

Took 2 minutes to upload too! Yeah I know, having 10 people in a 1-2 boss encounter leaves a crap tonne of efects/AoE’s/fire/water fields everywhere and you can’t really do much about it. All raids will look like this unless they change something
Been wondering how they’ll implement actual mechanics that overcome the ridiculous skill spam. it already can get hard to see wtf the boss is doing in regular dungeons at times.

Don’t really think there is a way for them to fix that without screwing up some other part of the game but yeah 10 people is too many to really see anything especially with all the new flashy animations
If they had an option to remove or minimize weapon trails, ground effects, etc. to an absolute bare minimum amount with strongly defined borders, that might be alright. As it stands, I don’t know how they expect to make complex mechanics, especially any that require avoiding boss telegraphs.
This is honestly my biggest disappointment with HoT, and the reason I won’t be purchasing it: the complete and total lack of visual clarity in combat. Imagine trying to play Dark Souls with a mod that made enemies explode into a shower of sparks and smoke every time you hit them. It’d be practically impossible for the average person to get through it, and it’d be frustrating to do so even if you managed to.
