Sorry if this has been asked already, but i cannot figure out how to unlock fractal difficulty 2.

i have completed all 7 fractals on difficulty 1, i have completed a “full run” of 3 fractals in a row, a few times now. but it will only let me into difficulty 1.

i am testing this by walking up to the entrance when Im not in a group. and it shows the highest unlocked level as 1.

do i need to be in a full group with people who have unlocked level 2 for it to be an option?

how does this work?

have i not actually unlocked level 2, is there some sort of onscreen indication when you actually unlock it?

no idea, for me it was just do 3 fractals in a row (same group and without returning to the observatory), it sends you automatically to observatory after reaching of new level

yes , the whole group needs the same lvl

For Odd Level Difficulties you do 3 fractals to increase your level. ie.
Level 1 Swamp → Snow → Cliffside → Level 2
For Even Level Difficulties there’s a 4th fractal to complete to increase level. ie.
Level 2 Swamp → Snow → Cliffside → Jade Sea → Level 3

So far the fourth one has been the same for us want to buy more bosses please arenanet.

You can log in at the highest difficulty unlocked by EVERY member of your party.
If someone in your party doesn’t have difficulty level 2 you can only do difficulty level 1.

So basically i have not unlocked it yet.

Lets say with 1 group, i finish 2 fractals, then we got back to the observatory to repair, and complete a 3rd. does that count? or does returning to the observatory area reset it?

because i have completed 3 with the same group, but i think we returned after 2, then finished the 3rd
