Guild Wars 2

How do you get 40AR if you only get 25 max via accessories rings and amulet (+5AR each).
What is the maximum AR and what am I missing? Is there ascended armor now?

By upgrading your jewelry to infused status using some of the crafting materials you can find in the fractals. This way they get +5 AR added to their basic stats.

Maximum AR is 45
+10 from 2 rings (Versatile Simple Infusion)
+10 from infusing 2 rings (Via mystic forge)
+10 from 2 accessories (earrings; Versatile Simple Infusion)
+5 from backpiece (Versatile Simple Infusion)
+5 from infusing backpiece (Via mystic forge)
+ 5 from necklace (Versatile Simple Infusion)

Simple infusions can be swapped for any of the +5 stat infusions for the same effect.
