How to Play Dungeons
nice link, but remember this is a game that said they want people to play the way they like, when in fact is VERY punishing/impossible if you don’t play it their way.
they horribly wrongly advertised this game and its features that’s the real problem.
that’s why so many like me are annoyed at this game cause I was expecting something else, from their mouths, not my assumption. Am already trying to sell this to a friend cause am sorry, with so many other great games out now, and soon. This Is just not worth its ticket price.
Some points are hit and some are miss. I dont think most of the player base has any problem with difficult content if its difficult for the right reason. talking with team mates to figure out strategies to down a boss. Fun. Dealing with frustrations that seem short sighted (magg drop time), not fun.
I wouldnt mind running dungeons if I wasnt forced to die to complete an event, and if the repair costs were manageable. Most people cannot afford to spend 30 silver per run. The cost adds up to fast.
“Blame ArenaNet for the right things and yourself for all the rest.”
I decided to stop reading after that cheerleading remark.
It’s great that you feel the ArenaNet is ominpotent and can make no mistakes, even though they’ve acknowledged that some dungeons might be too difficult. Be that as it may, the problem isn’t just the difficulty or non-difficulty of particular dungeons – it’s the reward vs. time/frustration factor.
If you think dungeons are too difficult, then here is a list of what you should do:

So what we’re supposed to do is level to 80, use 400-level food, and buy exotic weapons to complete a level 30 story mode dungeon. Kittening brilliant!
Silly me: I just wanted to complete the story mode when the story was still relevant and I was thinking explorer mode was for later. How foolish I was.

1. People CAN play the way they like. Every person. Easy mode lovers are not the only people out there. So they made something hard too. For those people to play the way they like. Easy mode has the rest of the game. Quit making yourself look like a spoiled brat who not only wants it all but refuses to put forth any amount of effort to learn anything new to get it.
2. No one said ArenaNet doesn’t make mistakes, they only pointed out that the strategy required in dungeons is not one of them, it is you who needs to change, not the dungeons. To add to this, people need to realize giving in to a spoiled rotten screaming infant is not “admitting you were wrong” it is doing something to shut them the hell up.
3. You do not need to “use 400-level food, and buy exotic weapons to complete a level 30 story mode dungeon.” I am in crafted gear (that I made myself, with mats I collected myself just from exploring the maps) with weapons I have found in open World events and have had ZERO issues completing any story mode. Again, it is no one elses issue if you cannot understand new mechanics or refuse to try anything new. Nor did I spend 30 silver on repairs…ever…from a dungeon.

Dungeon Story is irrelevant until you get to the last mission of personal story which is in the final dungeon, funny how that works. If you properly read what that blog said, it didn’t say you have to, it just said, it is easier to do with exotics/food buffs.
I liked that read, and I agree with a lot of it. I’ve got some friends I could show this to, to get them out of the dual dagger and greatsword/rifle combos.
And I agree that just because a developer says “Play your way” doesn’t mean “We’ll make the game so easy anyone can do anything”. There are some people who want challenging PvE content, and they can get it through the dungeons. If someone doesn’t like a challenge, their is plenty of PvE content to experience besides that.
No need to link vids or other stuff when u can explain it in one sentence.
Run, hit, die, spawn x 100000 = finished
Dont forget the loot at the end. Dislike and Headache, no need to choose or roll, u get both.
Lots of logical fallacies here:
- It isn’t either-or; it isn’t only easy or only difficult
- Again, not either-or: “play your way” isn’t “anything goes”; the issue is that it seems only one or maybe two ways go
- Everyone who takes exception to dungeon design is not a Trophy Generation cry-baby
- I criticised the articles strategy: I didn’t say those were necessary only that others felt it was

Trying to make yourself look smart by correcting grammar only makes you look that much more dumb when you STILL fail to comprehend tactics that are different than what you are used to.
