Before I begin, I should mention that an official dev from anet has stated that the problem isn’t really the dungeon, more so that people keep skipping mobs which causes such glitches to happen. There was already a big debate about this and a lot of people have suggested to just give the trash mobs better loot but, that’s another story. Also, to truly avoid glitching this dungeon, just kill every trash mob. It takes time but hey, bring some MF food (preferably Omnomberry bars) and just go at it. But if you’re the type that just wants to do the dungeon for tokens, read on.
Path 1:
-The burrows room: A lot, and I mean a lot of people seem to always get pushed through the door when destroying the burrow to the far right corner of the map (if you’re looking at the mini map or the map, it is to your right). To avoid getting pushed through that door, stand either in front of the burrow or to the left. The thing with the burrows is that once they are destroyed, you get pushed back a bit for some reason. And if you do get pushed back because you didn’t heed my warning, just teleport to the nearest waypoint and run back to the room.
-Find the scepter pieces: This seems to have been fixed for a while now. The reason I say this is because before, when getting to this room to find the pieces, and if the oozes spawned, Hodgins will fight the oozes and completely glitch. From the looks of it, anet has either reduced his aggro range but a ton or just made him not fight those oozes anymore. Either way, always, ALWAYS make sure someone stays with him while 4 others go and find the scepter pieces. It won’t exactly glitch if you don’t stay, but Hodgins will follow you into the room and you’ll have to fight the gravelings at the entrance. And seeing as how they’re all scavengers (the ones that knock you down and will destroy you if you don’t have stability/stun breakers), it will be a pain to fight them.
Path 2:
-Take Detha to the champion room: This is where most people seem to glitch. If you’re skipping mobs plus the oozes, there is a way to de-aggro her and not start the event right away. Basically, upon entering the room where Detha must set up the cannons, make a left and just keep going left into the corner. EVERYONE must go to this corner, Detha will de-aggro, and then you can safely walk towards the center. There isn’t a specific spot to go, just as long as you DON’T go to the middle. Avoid going to the middle until everyone is at the same spot and Detha is no longer fighting anyone. I’ve included some screenshots to give you a better idea of where to go, but again, it doesn’t matter what spot you go to just as long as you DO NOT enter or even cross the middle part of the room until everyone is ready.
Path 3:
-Taking Tzark to the lover’s crypt: Believe it or not this can actually glitch. The best way to avoid this happening is for everyone to quickly skip the 3-4 ghosts that spawn, immediately head to the far corner away from the ghosts, and just wait until everyone is de-aggroed. If even ONE person stays close to the ghosts, Tzark will continue to fight the ghosts, die, and this will possibly glitch. It has happened to me, and I’m sure it has happened to others.
These are pretty much the main things that seem to glitch in AC. One major glitch which I unfortunately don’t know of a fix, or if there even is a fix, is that in path 1 very rarely you will kill the last boss yet get no tokens even AFTER defeating the boss. If this happens, you’re pretty much SOL (urbandictionary to find the definition, as it will get censored if I type it out). And one last thing that people seem to forget, but it isn’t exactly a glitch:
In path 2, when you go to the trap room, everyone needs to go to the far corner in order to active the cutscene/event. It isn’t a glitch, but a lot of people (usually the ones that are going to kite the mobs around the traps) seem to forget that in order to start the event, you have to get close to the traps first THEN it will trigger. Again not a glitch, but people seem to forget how to even start the event at times.
