How to pass Cliffside in Fotm on Lv30+
I just done my 20 daily and had the same problem. The boss is buggy as hell.
When he drops the hammer, immediately kill a mob, charge the hammer and hit the seal. Next use the stunbreaker and immediately have the group run to the tunnel/cave terrain on the right. Stealth is useful here. What this does, it should break the leash on the normal mobs. If you kite the boss far enough, he will teleport to a cage on the left in a passive state.
In this phase, thin down the mob before engaging the boss again. Repeat until the seal is broken.
Note that the boss is very buggy now. If you get his hp low enough, his attack will permanently be fixed into just melee and summon 2 scorpion things. He will no longer use aoe fields and the agony white light blast. You should not thin out the mob when he is dazed as the adds will replenish itself.
u can avoid the white blast and the Agony along with it, as soon as the boss gets his Cultist Reflection Boon (Shares the exact same icon as Protection) you evade, and you can evade all the Agony he throws at you.
im suprised you even tried 30 plus with a pug... there is no issue here that i see these lower levels are meant for hardcore pve people with organised groups its small wonder that you failed..

u can avoid the white blast and the Agony along with it, as soon as the boss gets his Cultist Reflection Boon (Shares the exact same icon as Protection) you evade, and you can evade all the Agony he throws at you.
its a useful tip but still easier said than done, the necro field alone already very to dodge them all completely without getting any hit.
The real issue is the adds hits too hard at lv30 while your gear dont have any progression in terms of stats.

I say pug but honestly our teams are pretty organized, many of us are dungeon master and we know what we are doing.
I am gonna be honest here, I think this Fractal is broken in terms of difficulty when the seal is “fixed”, the amount of effort to pass this fractal is gonna make everyone skip it when they saw it.
The quantity shouldnt be the meaning of challenge. What i see in fractals, you just get more and more adds and the much increasing of the HP of bosses as the meaning of the challenge by the level increase. I’d expect like more tactical skills on bosses.
Yeah I did this fractal today at level 12 for the first time since the “fix”. It is easily the hardest fractal in the game now. The adds just keep spawning until they overwhelm you. I don’t see how it is possible to evade their attacks and still kill all of them before the next wave spawns.
When doing this boss legit before the patch the mobs would despawn after you hit the seal. I don’t think constantly spawning mobs is intended(crosses fingers).

You have to hit the seal to stop the adds from replenishing in numbers. However, they will not disappear. Your party have to thin them out before the next seal hitting phase or else your party will be overwhelmed. As mentioned at higher levels, the adds will hit for alot of dmg. The only reason I got through is because my PUG party was great and they didn’t ragequit.

Ahh ok by what you said i dident think it was an organised group.. I have not tried it at lvl 30 yet tbh so ill take your word for it.

ah ok, i think ive only done this one at 10+ a few times. I can see how this would be awful.

Now cliffside is the dungeon I hate most in Fotm, even more than the fire shaman.
I wish the other Fractal final bosses scaled with difficulty as well as Cliffside and Volcano. Those two bosses actually require a semblance of strategy and some player skill. A few bosses require a bit of strategy (Uncategorized, Jade Maw, Dredge) , some don’t require anything (Snowblind, Underwater, Ascalon, Swamp), even at 50.
