I have never even seen one dungeon yet because there is no dungeon finder que system. It is truly very sad because I really love this game, it’s just missing a dungeon finder. I don’t like constantly posting in map chat and hoping I will find a group. I should have never stopped playing wow, their dungeon finder was so awesome. If this is something that is being added please disregard my post. I just can’t believe this game even shipped without it…

Laziness is not an excuse.

Posting in a forum is almost worse than posting in map chat. I’m not a lazy person, I happen to know there is a better way of doing this and can’t believe arenaNet thought it would be ok the way it currently is. The game is so beautiful, I just want to experience the game to it’s full potential.

It’s really not that bad. Try it sometime. I almost guarantee you will get a group faster than LA spamming.

try 1, get a good guild, rarely should you need more then 1 or max 2 pugs to fill a group after just asking in /g.

2, try LA not the area of the zone, works better

3, use gw2lfg.com, works great, no risk, very easy to fill the last few spots from a guild run. groups fill fast and can sometimes be a pain to /join as it is always full already

but realy, getting a group for most dung is not that hard. some dung paths are harder than others and will be harder to get a pug for (or you realy dont want to waste your time with a pug on them), but most can be done easy.

I think there might also be a big difference between EU and US servers…
Ive been looking for dungeon groups all week, and have found maybe 3 or 4… even with the tool…

let alone trying to find a group for story mode… I cant even think about it…

All mmo’s have differences. If you really feel WoW is a better mmo suited for yourself you can always re-up your subscription. It does have a lot of content and is very polished.

I tried to find a group for 3 full hours tonight using this website but never even got to start a single instance. Apparently no one wants to do story modes anymore, and most of the invites I got were for Explore mode (even though I specifically signed up for Story mode and couldn’t get inside). For the few times that I actually did find a group of people who wanted to do Story mode, we never did find a full group of 5 before someone got bored and left

When is the Dungeon Finder being released? I’d really like to play this game but it’s pretty boring standing around for hours just hoping to find a group capable of wiping on the first pull (because at least that would mean we started)

It takes minutes to find groups for any dungeon in any mode. Instead of complaining and demanding, make due with the tools you have in front of you.

You can enter explorable mode without having done story mode. Only the player that starts the dungeon need to have done story mode to select explorable.

I call BS and laziness on this.

Even getting a group for Arah (probably the most difficult dungeon to start up because it can be so incredibly frustrating and few people want to do it) is not difficult and only took me about an hour today.

Here’s some advice for you:

Use GW2LFG (and if you have problems using third party websites then get over yourself; it’s safe and effective).

We can be in multiple guilds at the same time with this game, so even if you have a guild of friends who don’t like to do dungeons it doesn’t matter. Find a new guild that does dungeons and only rep them when you need a group.

Be conscious of your server’s peak hours. Finding a group at low-pop times is obviously harder than at peak. Granted this point of advice can be the most difficult to follow because your RL schedule may preclude you from logging in during peak hours, but nevertheless work with what you have.

Be proactive. Don’t just list yourself as LFG and then wait around for hours hoping four people will magically come take you along for a dungeon. Get out there and make a name for yourself and be aggressive in getting people into your group. Hop back and forth between LA and your dungeon zone shouting out your recruitment.

Two years ago MMOs did not have an automated LFG system, and yet people were still perfectly able to put groups together by actually communicating with their community. Guess what? That hasn’t changed, and it is still perfectly possible to do so. In fact it’s even easier with GW2 because you can group with people on different servers without needing to use an automated LFG, so even being on a low pop server is no excuse.

GW2 has an LFG system, it simply is not in the actual game yet. This does not mean that GW2LFG is not useful, because it is in fact very popular, easy to use, and facilitates very easy group building. There are even smartphone apps for it.

If you are truly using all the tools at your disposal then there is no reason whatsoever for not being able to get a dungeon group together. Just today I have already farmed CoF (with different people and sometimes without any guildies) so many times that even with DR on tokens I have already bought 3 pieces of armor.

Wow did not have a dungeon finder on release or for quite a long time. Map chat is great for filling a spot or even just using it to meet some new people to do dungeons with. Or join a guild that runs dungeons
