I like the changes made to dungeons and dungeon rewards.
Oh no i need to run another path, you will still have to run it 30-40 more times for your armor set…didnt change a thing.
I find it quite ironic that people say they dislike grinding so much, but they repeat the same exact dungeon path over and over because it is the easiest.
I dislike grinding too, because it requires less then half a brain to do and it makes me fall asleep. You know what else makes me fall asleep, doing these escort and kill 20 waves of mobs DE. I stand there and button smash 3-5 buttons with my eyes closed.
This game also has grinding, to a certain extent. It just requires you to run longer distances to counter the DR.
If I understand the update correctly, the rewards diminish only if you run the same path daily . If you run a different path, you get restored rewards. If you run the"easy" path the next day(24 hour period), your rewards will be restored also.
Added a system to limit the experience and gold that players can receive from speed-farming dungeons.
what. I don’t see the word path in that sentence.

Honestly, if you don’t like the fact that dungeon armor costs so much, then don’t work for the dungeon armor. It is only cosmetic, and is meant to be acquired over a long period of play. It is not meant to be acquired in a day of playing. (exaggeration)
You think they should lower the amount of tokens you get. LOL you are one of the probably very few that would enjoy farming more than what it took before the update to get one piece of gear
Run another path… right…
Especially if other paths are not doable within an hour. And now they buffed “easy” parts aswell but in WRONG way… they buffed the hardest moments of the easiest paths.. Just kitten logic. They should for example buff the last boss of the 2nd path CoF instead of 1st insane boss or “kiting” moment.
If content is as hard, as dungeons are it should reward players for doing it, which is not happening in this game. You try your best with teammates to get through this ridiculously hard path, and get literally kitten after completing it. It’s not how things should work. Make some paths harder? Ok but do it the right way and INCREASE the rewards or don’t touch them atleast.. not Make dungeons harder and nerf rewards. It’s just simply stupid.
Tell me just this. how many flame legion armor do you have on yourselfe up to now? or how many cof speed runs did you to up till now? and be honest.
Meh, i got my set anyways i dont know why i am even complaining. Now i wonder if they also fixed the people exploiting Arah.
This change needed to happen, whether some of you guys like it or not. The fact that only one path of each dungeon was being run was not fun to me and many other players.
“lets make the only enjoyable path as much un-fun as the rest – now people will do the other ones (which still are no fun) more!”
I see a flaw in your logic.

If some people didn’t only run one explorable path, they might know that you get 30 tokens for completing each path daily. It is my educated guess that this is the case with dimishing silver and exp, as well. You get the full amount of exp, silver and tokens for completing each path per day. You then get dimishing rewards for repeating a certain path, to provide incentive to take other paths as well.
In case it is not clear enough:
24 hour period:
Path 1 – 30 tokens -> 20 tokens -> 20 tokens
Path 2 – 30 tokens -> 20 tokens -> 20tokens
Path 3 – 30 tokens -> 20 tokens -> 20 tokens
Edit: Sorry, I originally said it’s 30 → 15 → 15. It’s late here. :P

It used to be:
30 -> 20 -> 20… but w/e
In CoF atleast.. dunno about the others.
Tell me just this. how many flame legion armor do you have on yourselfe up to now? or how many cof speed runs did you to up till now? and be honest.
I didn’t even touch CoF actually, because I didn’t want to acquire my CoF gear through speed clears. I want to get it through gradual play through of all the explorable modes.
I have actually been spending most of my time in Twilight Arbor taking all three paths with a group of my real life friends.

I actually ran HoTW after the patch, and I still got 5 tokens per chest, and that was the second time I had ran it today.

So, let me see if I’m getting it right.
You can’t speed farm CoF anyomore, so instead of doing your gear in 24h, you get it in 15 days, playing the three paths everyday, while you enjoy other PvE zones, WvW and sPvP.
It’s the end of an easy gold spot, so the economy keeps its balance and money comes and goes in different ways.
It brings back what dungeons proposed to be, hard team work and skilled gameplay, not just a bunch of glass cannon shouting “leeroy jenkins” from left to right.
And it’s a bad update, which should be rollbacked?
Where am I missing in everybody’s argument here, cause it sounds incredibly odd require it different.

This changes pretty much cause they buffed easy parts so hards.. it’s nearly impossible to do it in reasonable amount of time… You struggle through dungeon and get kitteny reward Dungeons are not rewarding effort at all.

It should stay like that. I like doing something hard over and over again without being punished of doing so. I’m talking about explorable not story. As for story they are not supposed to be a place for gold farming because they are quite easy imo.

I doubt they would, they’re trying to counter speed farming for gold, exp and token. They’ve done just that by buffing the dungeons, and nerfing the end rewards. The tokens aren’t as easy to get anymore. I don’t mind 30>20>20>15>15, I hope they don’t make it like the current DR system for drops on mobs to where you get close to NOTHING at all.
*Edit: Still waiting to see if there is DR on different paths or DR on the dungeon as a whole. OP get on it.

So say, I run path 1 then do path 2 and repeat. Do I still keep getting 30 tokens at the end? in this case people only have to choose “2 out of 3” easiest path instead of “1” which doesn’t change much.
You get 30 tokens per day from each path, then you get 20 tokens after each repeat you do. This resets everyday.
But you can still do it without limit right? like 20 tokens afterwards each time you do it?
For now, apparently, yes. You still get 20 tokens after each repeated run. I wouldn’t expect it to stay that way for long, though. Who knows.
I doubt they would, they’re trying to counter speed farming for gold, exp and token. They’ve done just that by buffing the dungeons, and nerfing the end rewards. The tokens aren’t as easy to get anymore. I don’t mind 30>20>20>15>15, I hope they don’t make it like the current DR system for drops on mobs to where you get NOTHING at all.
People will probably hate me even more for saying this, but I’m going to keep it real.
I think that dungeon tokens should be 30 -> 12 -> 4 -> 4 -> 4, but restored rewards on different paths.
4 is a bit low, considering you need 200+ tokens per piece of armor just for cosmetics. If there was a reset in DR if you did path one 10 times then did path two 10 times, then getting down to 4 would be fine. That would make people do different paths, and want to do an extended amount of them to where they are unhappy with the amount of tokens they are getting.
If I understand the update correctly, the rewards diminish only if you run the same path daily . If you run a different path, you get restored rewards. If you run the"easy" path the next day(24 hour period), your rewards will be restored also.
so say, I run path 1 then do path 2 and repeat. DO I still keep getting 30 tokens at the end?
Added a system to limit the experience and gold that players can receive from speed-farming dungeons.
what. I don’t see the word path in that sentence.
Path 1 – 30 tokens -> 15 tokens -> 15 tokens
Path 2 – 30 tokens -> 15 tokens -> 15 tokens
Path 3 – 30 tokens -> 15 tokens -> 15 tokensIts 30 > 20 > 20. Oh smart one, now go run the dungeons 4 different paths and tell us if each path is on DR.

I don’t mind the nerf the story mode or buff the explorable as long the explorable is still rewarding and worth doing otherwise this will put off hardcore player like myself.
I don’t see how having the option to obtain as many as 90 tokens daily, as long as you do all three paths, is disappointing. Hell, you could acquire another 36 pretty easily if you have a good dungeon team.
If I understand the update correctly, the rewards diminish only if you run the same path daily . If you run a different path, you get restored rewards. If you run the"easy" path the next day(24 hour period), your rewards will be restored also.

The thing that people don’t understand, is that these dungeon sets are not meant to be fully acquired in a week. Those people who are complaining that this game is a grind, are making the game a grind by spending twelve hours farming the same path for cool looking gear. I mean if grinding is your thing, that’s cool and all, but these dungeon sets are not meant to be a fast and casual thing to acquire.
It’s actually disappointing to me how easy the sets are to get.

Heck it’s not like I can play everyday. I can only play during the weekend which usually end up 8-9 hours of playing per-day. This is not true always especially I’m starting to get tons of work to do from uni stuff which makes me can barely play.
Stop complaining and get your stupid “grinding mentality” out of you head!!!!
ANet said form the very beginning that they dont want GW2 to be grindy at all. Yet all you do is grinding, complaining and complaining that you have to grind. You do NOT have to grind, you do NOT NEED that dungeon armor. If you want it, than take you time. Do each path (of the corresponding dungeon) once a day or do just one path. You will get to your armor eventually and also you get to ENJOY THE GAME!!!!!
If you enjoy doing the same the dugeon/path over and over again, than that should be enough reward for you. If not than maybe put your time/efforts on something that you actually enjoy.
If the only enjoyment you can get form a game is grinding, than GW2 is the wrong game for you, period.
I am not saying the dungeon system is perfect as it is, but the change is still a step in the right direction and the dircetion ANet always said they gonna support.
P.s. btw the explorable modes are ment to be hard and only to be done by a well coordinated group.

So, what I’m getting so far is there are two types of players in this game. Those who are anti-grind, and those who are pro-grind. Those who are pro-grind will find a way to grind a certain set of gear or something in the game, and anet will shut them down by countering it, telling the people who want to grind. No, play the game our way. And the ones who are anti-grind will….? Finish it for me.

Self-humiliation, at it’s finest.
Enjoy PvE zones and WvW? hahahahahaha
Yeah, enjoy bugged event everywhere along with bugged vistas, quests, skill points.
Yeah, enjoy 2 hours of queue for Eternal Battlegrounds or maybe 1h for borderland, to face dozens of invisible enemies cause game engine can’t handle it and in some situations you can’t simply see enemies unless they are literally in yourkitten
Yeah, enjoy farming mobs while after 15 minutes of doing it you get almost no loot at all even with 150%+ magic find.
Or maybe should i enjoy way too easy group events which are simply boring?
Oh, i know. I should enjoy nearly impossible paths of dungeons that takes like 1h or even more to complete if you are lucky or even able to do it, cause of Boss that heals faster than few players can dps him.
And on top of this – They say they wan to let us play the way we want to… So hypocritical.
They just simply want to FORCE us to play the way they want us to play. And it will bring nothing but fast death to GW2.
Twice the first day, everyday after that will be once unless skipped to save for the next day. But I get what you’re trying to say. Still seems like a grind like part of the game. Grind like part of the game, Anet will surely change it to where you get DR for the dungeon as a whole on tokens.
Thanks for trying to understand where I am coming from. And yes, there is always a grind to everything if you make it that way. The game will definitely feel like a grind if you have your cross hairs set on the dungeon set of your choice and you do the easiest path of that dungeon 20 times a day. Of course the game will feel like a grind. o.O
Enjoy PvE zones and WvW? hahahahahaha
Yeah, enjoy bugged event everywhere along with bugged vistas, quests, skill points.
Yeah, enjoy 2 hours of queue for Eternal Battlegrounds or maybe 1h for borderland, to face dozens of invisible enemies cause game engine can’t handle it and in some situations you can’t simply see enemies unless they are literally in yourkittenYeah, enjoy farming mobs while after 15 minutes of doing it you get almost no loot at all even with 150%+ magic find.
If you really dislike the game that much, I don’t understand why you are playing, let alone worried about the state of dungeons.

Wow maybe because he had high hopes.
This game had so much hype and I too am completely disappointed.
I was loving beta and launch, but it’s like with every update they have, they ruin the game more and more.
So want to know why people who are upset still play?
Because we spent money and time on this game.
We waited and waited and were excited to finally play.
Now, a lot of people are just extremely disappointed at the state of the game so far.
I don’t blame them.
I agree with what he said.
They’re killing their game.
You can see on the forums that people are already talking about wanting refunds and if you check GW2s facebook, you’ll see the same thing.
Of course the game will feel like a grind. o.O
No, not just the easiest path. But doing each path X amount of times till DR sets in, because you have your eyes set on a certain set of gear. There is no cure for this, the ones who want the set will want to grind because that is what they want to do. The ones who don’t want to grind but will make it seem like it because they have to do it X amount of times to get it will whine about it being a grind. There is no cure to “grind” in a system like this, running a dungeon for tokens to get a set. The ones who will be okay with it will be the ones who are okay with doing the dungeons once or twice casually, taking their time and liking the challenge of the dungeon. Everyone else will be butt hurt.
You do NOT have to grind, you do NOT NEED that dungeon armor. If you want it, than take you time. Do each path (of the corresponding dungeon) once a day or do just one path. You will get to your armor eventually and also you get to ENJOY THE GAME!!!!!
1: hey, have you heard? gw2 has no grind at all!
2: hu? how? where’d you get gear?
1: that’s the cool thing, you can get stat-capped pretty easily and fast
2: so what’s the longterm goal? what’s that carrot to chase?
1: armor with different looks! cool eh?
2: hm. how do you get that armor?
1: well, you do instances and get rewarded tokens which you can trade in
2: sound nice, how many do you need?
1: given you find a group to do these instances, and you successfully complete them you’ll run them around 50 times for the armor only
2: so you’re telling me they just switched the rewards but you still grind for it?
1: eh… hmm.. … yeah

Except you can get the best armor by crafting it, which is actually quite easy.

Why? Cause i spent some significant (for me) money on buying this game. Beta weekends were simply fun, and less bugged than games release edition… And you just couldn’t forsee changes that Anet is making lately. But if things like this will go on i will surely ask for my refund.
And I’m part of this game community, so i think that every player feedback should be appreciated. I want this game to become good, cause it was really fun during beta weekends… but it’s becoming worse and worse with every day and i simply dont want it to die, cause it have potential to become 1 of the best mmos.
and to make everything clear.
Changes needed to be done but i think, and i will stay with this opinion, they were made in the wrong direction. CoF 2nd path should be buffed – yes, but not in the way they did it. They should have buffed last boss instead of “kiting” area for example.
And they should have fix/nerf some other paths to encourage people to try them, and not get stomped to the ground by boss that is healing faster than you can actually do dmg.
You want dungeons to be for elites, guild parties etc.. ok.. But this way they are right now, they wont be rewarding at all. People will just get bored after few tries, if 1 run takes them 1h or sometimes more depending on path you are doing. And many times you just lose more money than you were able to earn during run. They should decrease amount of tokens along with slightly increased difficulty in CoF path 2 to extend time needed to “farm” for exotic pieces… but they did something completely stupid.
And yet while many other parts of the game needs fix ASAP, they are focusing on something like this. If you want me to enjoy PvE in this game – 1st fix those stupid blocked events everywhere, and not punish me for trying to grind 1h from time to time by decreasing drop rate to the ground.
I usually do it like this way: maybe 2-3 runs, some gathering and exploring doing nearby event… and if i FINALLY got into WvW i had to stay there cause i would have to w8 another hour to get back into :/ While they are destroying dungeons, events are bugged so often and you even can’t farm…. there’s almost nothing left to do than PvP, which comes to conclusion than PvE in this game now sucks even more.

If you honestly think exploiting dungeons by speed clearing them, is a positive aspect of this game, then I have no words.

All rare armours from crafting are the same from level 35-80. That’s right they are all have the same skin despite they have superior status. Even I hate the look of lv80 exotic heavy armours even though they have unique skin…
