I currently play a carrion/rabid engineer mainly. Is dungeon soloing even remotely feasible for me, or should I just try to level another character first?

Conditions.. are problematic, even in a solo setting. You’ll do okay damage against most bosses, and the added bunkerness will help you during your first times against lupi but against those who defend themselves against conditions, like alphard, you might as well pull your own teeth. You’ll be fine doing most of the content solo as condition, but you really ought to do yourself a favour and get some berserker gear to swap to when you need to.

That being said, I’ve seen engineers do some crazy awesome things, so you likely don’t need to make another character.

Condi engi is pretty good at solos, but you’ll need another set of power-based (i.e. sin/zerk) armor for some bosses (crystalline entities = immune to condis; alphard = 95% base condi duration reduction, brie = first 50% of life direct damage is amplified 10x).

Even if you decide on staying with condis you are better off with sinister gear instead of carrion/rabid. If you can avoid boss attacks you won’t need the increased defences from vitality or toughness and be better off with the power stat that comes with sinister.

You will need to use different gear sets for each part of the dungeon. Like if you solo arah p3 you might need clerics gear for the corrosive light puzzle.

I found this video of a engineer soloing arah p3, but p2 is the easiest path to get to lupicus

Here some tips
- Start by path 2. Path 1 you need 4 ppl for the tar fight and Path 3 can be hard to solo because of the orb, don’t know if engineer can solo but you problably gonna need cleric to do it.
- Have a backup zerker set since like most ppl said some boss have some immunity to condition.
- Maximize you dmg. Take ascended gear if you can, take sigil of force and sigil of undead slaying. Take a couple of different food. Take a good pile of potion of undead slaying, etc, etc You will be alone so fight are gonna take a long time. Every little bit of dmg will count.
- Prepare yourself to change your build often. You probably gonna have to change you build for every fight so your fight run should be about trying to find the best build for each encounter.
- Take Harpy’s feather with you. They stealth you for 3sec and have low cooldown, they gonna help you a lot while running some portion.

Engis can also blast stealth for 10s, then use Toss Elixir S for 5s more stealth while running. Once stealth runs out, elixir s itself is a decent “oh snap” button if something went wrong while skipping.
It’s a great class, and my post was only about the build/gear, not about the character itself. Engis might not be the fastest runners, or highest dps, but they’re well rounded and have a lot of things for various situations. Condis are fine for some bosses, but you really need some berserker gear for those who are strong against them. You don’t need to roll another character.

I know that Engie can blast stealth. But that’s the issue. Its a blast. For some run, a harpy’s feather will make your life way more easier (you can’t blast next to a enemy and you can’t blast enough by yourself with an engineer to run through everything in one shot. Yes of course you can run it, then wait, then run again, but harpy’s feather will save you some time. Always appreciated in a solo run.

Orb of light can be solo’d with any gear that doesn’t provide vitality. Healing power from cleric’s will help a little, but isn’t necessary – save some bag slots and do it naked if necessary. I created the engi orb of light solo, if you have any questions about it, let me know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNpSM-ju4Gs

Between blasting stealth, and elixir s, you can get through any run easy without harpy feathers. Just remember that engi has a 12 second cap on its stealth. For example, the spider room or the final skip in p2, blast healing and thumper turrets in your smoke field, wait until the icon starts flashing before tossing elixir s (if you toss it when there is more than 7 seconds remaining, you lose some of your stealth time to the 12 second max).
