Guild Wars 2

Sorry in advance for sounding like a noob, and thanks for reading this.

Anyway, the only other MMO i’ve played extensively was WoW, so that is all of my MMO experience pretty much.

My main questions are:

1) Are Dungeons where the best loot in the game is at? Relevant to level of course.

2) Is there a viable LFG method? The world chat seems pretty inactive at most times, and I type /LFG but it says it changed my “status.”

3) A friend told me that in Guild Wars (1) that getting the best armor and items in the game was easy, but it was all about skins and item looks, is this true?

Sorry for the noobish questions, but I bought Guild Wars 2 as an impulse purchase, and just leveling and questing thus far, it seems so far ahead of WoW.

1) It not possible to get the best gear from dungeons while leveling since, by the time you get enough tokens from exploration mode you ll be 10 levels higher then the level requirement meaning the gear is outdated again. Therefore while leveling it’s easier to find upgrades on the Black lion trading co. The dungeons themselves dont drop rares/exotics from bosses like in WoW.

On level 80 the best gear can be found in dungeons, crafted or bought from specific vendors.

2) The current LFG system consists of going to the area where the dungeon is located and Lion’s Arch and using the phrase: ‘LFM AC story’ or meaning ‘Looking for More for Acalonian Catacombs Story mode’ in this case.

3) Getting gear with the best statts is quite easy since crafting is relatively cheap and if you save your money when leveling you should be able to get most of your armor by the time you reach 80. Doing it via exploration mode requires 1440 tokens for an armor set which means doing the dungeon 24 times (or about 8 times the 3 different paths).

GW2 dungeons are a bit more difficult then WoW dungeons in my experience, but if you just practice your skills and you ll do fine. (having a correct trait build helps a lot so look for that on your class forum)
