I need help with FOTM Shaman Boss
Stay ranged, stay mobile, stay far away. The grawl’s agony attack has a 900 range, short tell, and slow projectile. He will turn and face the agony target and move into range until he can fire arrow. Stay at max range so you can spot his turn and movement forward. At long range you can sidestep his arrows. Use dodge only as a panic button and walk out of his red circles.
When the lava phase is triggered, take down the shield to about 50% of the stacks before congregating as a group and duck behind blocks/reflects and focus on the adds until they are cleared.
Keep your camera on the shaman. When he does the charge up motion, see where he’s looking at, if it’s at you, dodge. If you get targeted a lot, get out of range ( or over 900 at least ) for a bit. The boss seems to target the closer characters more often.
- Keep him in the middle. If he gets to a captive whilst in his ball he heals dramatically.
- As soon as he pops shiled target him first to break his shield, then target the fire worms
- Keep moving to avoid hot feet/burn
- You can predict his direct attack, dodge it if your squishy. I dont bother because Im a necro.
- Condition removal helps
- Staying right near the bridge is sometimes better than moving around the area
- If you have a tank, pray they tank. As a Necro I always try to keep aggro on me because you can take so much damage and constantly be sitting on full HP.
- Make sure your food consumable is still going. I always run a food buff, usually healing/vitality/toughness when doing this one.
-Consider instant revives IE Warrior War Banner, Necro Signit, Ranger pet revive etc.
Sometimes it might be better to get your squishys to stay on the foot bridge. A while back I had a few wipes where I was lasting 10+ minutes having to solo, but I couldnt bring his shield down before he healed off prisoners and I couldnt res because it was too much damage to stay stationary. And this is after 3 players died almost instantly as we started fighting. So we sat those 3 players up on the bridge and they stayed alive and were able to continually provide the dps we needed whilst me and a warrior survived. In this case, these players were playing outside their build and capability, but sometimes you might be in that situation and need to adapt to it.
1) stay at 900+ range and tap strafe (ADADADADAD) -.-
This will make him miss 90% at least if not 100%
2) keep all your skill available for when he put shield on
3) if you get hit by Arrow do not walk near other players :|
4) if someone dies stop attacking boss and who has aggro tank him while the Others ress.
5) get 1+ guardians .-. in party.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Also thieves are nice here. For both – smoke screen and huge amount of attacks on the bubble. Be always range – one exception when the bubble pops out (as a warrior I just use voley from rifle then, change to GS, give endure pain and go for 3,2 on GS).
4) if someone dies stop attacking boss and who has aggro tank him while the Others ress.
This is really the only useful thing anyone can tell you. If anyone goes down, make sure they are up as fast as possible. You want everyone up before the lava elementals and the shield pop.
Once the shield and elementals appear, kill the shield asap and ignore the shaman until all the elementals are dead.
