Good evening everyone.

Recently I made a Jormag’s Breath I’m really proud of, because I’ve seen some thief footage on YouTube where some thiefs used an ice themed weapon in one hand, and a fire themed weapon in the other. I wanted to join, so I crafted this sword, and I got an idea: I want to make a full ice themed looks for my thief.

Too bad, there is no such armor in the game. So this fact gave me the idea:

In a future dungeon update, it would be really cool to add more dungeon sets. For obvious reasons the stats won’t be higher than currently aviable sets, but another whole set of different skins would expand costumization options greatly! All it takes is to design a lot armor sets and don’t lose faith until those are done, so the quality is garanteed!

What do you think guys, would you like to see new dungeon armor sets? If yes – propably yes – how you imagine them? Icy spikes on the shoulders for HotW? Minimal lingering smoke for CoF? An Arah set full of miniature skulls with really small glowing eyes that would make you fearsome at night? Would you set higher dungeon token costs for them? Would you shake stats on them, so we could get a berserker set from AC? Questions, questions!

Share your ideas with everyone, and your opinion about this in general with me. I’m really curious if people would support this, so maybe listens!

Designing 3 more armor sets for each dungeon is propably much less expensive than a single Living World update like the Nightmare events were. We are talking about basic armor models here, compared to whole dungeons that needs to be planned and made both visually and mechanically, plus voiceover storytelling, creating and implementing lore with propably more voiceover storytelling about why and how the dungeon showed up. And that’s just the Aetherpath.

Now explain to me please, how you think 8*3=24 more armor models are worse in terms of profit. Something they don’t even make with all the Living World updates that cost propably 10 times more, plus 4 times more on top of that because there a 4 teams working on them at the same time.

I should pretend I didn’t even read that nonsense you stated up there.

I think it’d be awesome to have more skins for each dungeon, maybe just the set skin (no stats) with a reduced token cost, but this guy said everything:

Pretty much true.

You see, designing dungeon armor sets does not appease the majority of their player base.

However, creating living story content does. Their focus is creating ‘new’ content every 2 weeks to drive the casuals back into the game to drop $$$ on the cash shop, where conveniently the black lion keys are for new weapon skins, and the new armor skins are as well.

I deposit all my hope into the “big-content feature loaded patch we’ve been holding off after the Scarlet Arch”, which it about more 3-4 Living Stories.

If that doesn’t pump up something I like I’m not sure why should I wait any longer in the game.

It’d be nice if you could earn ascended armor in the game for an ungodly amount of tokens. I don’t see why this would be an issue. The new armor should look different compared to the exotic, but like other people have said there’s no profit in that. It would be a grind though which is what we do for crafting ascended gear.

I get the feeling that Anet had grand plans for dungeons and expansions and then something happened and they had to do a rapid rework. This game’s foundation screams of possible greatness that could have been, but instead we get scarlet updates every two weeks because the carebear and AP hunter crowd said they were bored. So they took their dungeon resources and allocated them to a LW project team. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an expansion team that was also quietly dismantled and redistributed into one of the LW teams. Do they even have a Quality assurance team at this point maybe that’s where LW team number 3 came from? I understand that you can’t take a guy who fixes bugs and then put him into a position that creates new content so i guess i’m heading down the path of speculation so I’ll stop here. But I’d rather speculate on this than why Scarlet’s feelings were hurt.
