Idea to help good pugs in dungeons
That feature is called “Add Friend”.
Just make a friendlist with all the good / decent players you met while pugging to avoid getting bad pugs
Also you can “rename” your friends. What I do is that when I add someone from a dungeon, I describe in a few words the context.

Same as i do. I got some people renamed as “Good for Aether” or “Nice warrior for Arah”.
Aens / Ellantriel / Nao To Mori / Saelyth. Commander
Guias de Raids en español / Spanish raiding guides
D:
I don’t be named as “No good for Arah, OK for AC and below”. Well, it’s just my opinion but adding description is something I didnot know. Will try!

Add friend.
Alternatively, find new ones asking for Zerk w/ Scholar requiring link – More often that’ll mean they are adequate for a PUG quality group.

There should be a better mechanism than add friend in general when running a pug group. I want to see if someone has a record of being a problem.
Guild members kicking pugs when they reach the boss to add in a guild member.
Starting a dungeon instance and quitting halfway through forcing a restart after an hours play.
It’s infuriating for all and there is no accountability for it.
I would also like to recommend people that have been out and out heros!

This is so true it hurts. Every time a PUG experiences difficulties it’s because players built for defense rather than offense.
There seems to be a myth circulating that you need an organized and optimal group to breeze through dungeons—you don’t. That type of organization makes for good speed clears on youtube to be sure, but a group of random, zerker PUGs who can either follow basic directions or already know fights can easily complete every dungeon path currently in game.
Luckily you can usually tell whether or not a group is full zerker within the first few minutes. If you don’t burn down the first set of trash mobs in a matter of seconds, it’s time to start pinging gear and/or leaving the dungeon entirely.
That might seem extreme, but it will save you time. In fact just a couple of days ago while running HoTW p1 (easiest dungeon path in the game, imo), I could tell on the first set of trash mobs by the stairs that the group wasn’t zerker. I asked about it and the Warrior was running a Sword/Condi build and claimed he was a “beast tank who burns stuff down with conditions,” and the Mesmer was another Condi build. Red flags all over the place, but it’s HoTW 1 so I was like whatever. We get to Aldus and of course everyone is trying to range him. Aldus is insanely easy when done right, but his projectile can start to down people if he isn’t brought down quickly. One after another the group starts to go down, and it’s clear that I’ll be able to finish the path by leaving and joining another group instead of sticking with that one.
The moral of the story is this: Players who claim that anything other than Zerker is viable should be avoided. They’re either willfully ignorant of the way the game works, or simply too inexperienced with higher-level content. Either way, they’re bad players. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Require zerker on every run.
yeah, I’ve had a lot more success in groups where people actually ask for “zerk ping gear” rather than random pugs, though I don’t know how these people manage to get berserker geared players who know what they’re doing.
I’ve tried looking for berserkers but all I’ve ever gotten are morons who say “oh its just (dungeon name) its easy you dont need zerk”.
I just put “be experienced/lv80s” in my description. If I see someone under 1k ap, I usually decide whether to kick or not just by looking at their appearance since usually they lack exotic gears and experience (medium armor using pirate armor, lol). It’s really obvious.
Yarrr! My 2nd thief wears pirate armor because she ain’t no landlubber!
I join everything from casual to zerk only pugs and from my experience, they are very similar, zerk groups can go either way, so does casual ones. But once in a while, when all the stars align, i get a glorious group who knows the content and run zerk gear.
A pug’s life :P

Lol Iris.
I wear cultural t3 on my Asura. Everyone just says I’m cute with my immobulus and anomaly that they don’t care what my build is.

And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
i wear zerk on all my character, doesnt mean i use meta build however + my 5ks achievement point and my full tier 3 coupled with my 90gold+ weapon tells im no beginner so i rarely get to be asked the question, i think i run a total of 3 meta and 5 customs. Its prety much the truth that as long as you run zerker the build will have little relevance damage wise in a dungeon, you just need zerker to have enought damage to get content done in the required amount of time past that your free to run hybrid builds to balance it out.
BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia

you kick. You kick lots. But the spots still fill up fast.
A few days ago – I counted – I kicked 20, yes TWENTY, people before I got what I asked, which was literally “Zerk Melee DPS”. I didn’t even ask for Scholar or anything, any ol’ noob using Rubies was fine.

How dare you call players running rubies noobs. Being cheap is a choice.
