Impossible to make or join Fractal groups
2 things working against you right now. It is close to reset and you are a ranger. I waited about 15 minutes yesterday on my warrior to full the party around the same time. I personally don’t mind rangers in my party as long as they know what they are doing and have the AR.
But now that I’m done with Fractals until they change the rewards (my thread is in general discussion), otherwise I would party up with you.

I know how it feels, I play my ranger almost exclusively in fractals. I don’t use my bow much and mainly stick to sword/axe (yes, you can survive high levels with this weapon choice). I specifically tell my team I’m not a bearbow and they don’t kick 90% of the time.
I don’t think it’s the players fault for wanting to have “good” professions/ builds in their fractal groups. This is 100% a balance/ design issue and the way I see it and it will never be fixed.
Only advice I can give you is try using a different weapon set or find a like minded guild that lets you play what you want.
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want
What’s your AP at? I see sub 2k people get booted all the time from any type of dungeon group regardless of class. I literally never get booted and I almost exclusively play ranger.
Ranger isn’t a bad class. It’s a very good one with Frost Spirit and Spotter. However it has a stigma, because people want to use their bows and bears and conditions and or pigs. Ranger has a meta set up just like every other class. Warrior’s would not be wanted if they had a stigma of using stances and using mace/shield and stuff like that. Most of them run Greatsword at least
Rangers in general don’t get kicked right off the bat. If you are using a sub par build (anything other than a melee spotter) you will get kicked. This is because Fotm is not phiw (play how I want) friendly. At the level you are people start looking for the best classes and builds, sadly people think ranger is not optimal (which they arent but it really doesn’t matter at lvl 27 lawl). If you want to get kicked less start running Sw/warhorn + GS and spotter.
“27 daily swamp rolled. I have zerker/spotter/frost spirit/no bear”
I would join this right away. Granted it’s more work and effort for you than with other classes, but the ranger profiling/stigma in general is not unwarranted.
to be faceroll at the high levels, because it
needs to be accessible to the casuals and bads.
Because Ranger is the most nerfed class in game and nobody wants them in the group, it’s impossible to get into or make a group for Fractals!
I cannot progress beyond lv27 because nobody will join me and or will instantly kick me if I try join their group! I’ve been waiting for nearly 20minutes now with “swamp ready” etc to try bait people into joining, but no luck. I know full-well that it is because I am on my Ranger.
I enjoy bow classes and playing as a Ranger, but because of poor game design I am repeatedly forced into either playing as Melee Ranger or on another character JUST to complete dungeons and fractals. I think this is totally unfair and outrageous that I am forced to play another profession!
The only way to get Fractals done is to joina group that is not yet entered and quickly enter them at the level they want. That puts me in control of the instance and ensures they cannot kick me. I feel that this “exploit” is unfair to players and again, I should not be forced into taking such drastic actions JUST to do a fractal.
you think rangers don’t get any love?
Try maining a necro!
You’re complaining about two things here.
your first is the prejudice against rangers.
your second is that there are few game mechanics that make range worthwhile.
On the first point, people will join, you just need to be patient.
On the 2nd point..deal with it. as a necro. I have to focus on power instead of conditions.(which is a little against the class role). Rangers aren’t just about range. And if the mechanic doesn’t call for it, deal with it and play melee.
Melee does more damage, which means bosses get killed quicker. Thats why people want you to melee. don’t like it? play a staff ele, I think thats the only class thats “acceptable” as range…or suggest to anet to make range encounters more viable. but right now, just get used to playing melee,

You tell him to suck it up and deal with it because you’ve got it worse? That’s a bit selfish and inconsiderate don’t you think? It’s wrong you’re forced to play power even though you think ’it’s a little against the class role’ but it makes no sense for a Ranger wanting to play Ranged… Ye, I find it a bit hypocritical.
Anyway, I’d recommend both of you to find a guild that fits your needs. Either a guild that you’ve get a chance to show how much you can add to a meta-team or a guild that isn’t focussed around the meta at all. PuGs won’t change, when people are working with strangers they rather have them on classes that are favour of the month or add something unique they think they’ll need. Play a favour of the month and skill suddently doesn’t seem to matter.
Had plenty of teams with a non-favour of the month class and feeling as if they ‘carried’ them through the content. Though when I see an Engineer stacking 9-12 might every ~24 seconds along with decent Vulnerability stacks and popping anti-projectile Elixers or Condition cleanses when he notices the Guardian doesn’t, I know he’s not getting carried by the Staff 1 spam from the Guardian. But does the average PuG cares, or even notices? Doubtful.
Bottomline, you can adjust but you can’t make people change.
