I played GW1 for years, loved every minute of it. The PvE in that game was beyond amazing. I never got bored of any of the content, and the “heroic” mode of dungeons and zones…..omg talk about difficult and rewarding.

However, here in this game is seems like they are missing something, and I hope a dev can comment on this thread to clear some stuff up. Here are my issues…

1) Massive health pools: I would rather that mobs have 1/3 of the HP they have, do double damage, and have 1-2 more effects they do (chills, poisons, aoe, etc). It makes for a MUCH more enjoyable experience, and not the, go check Facebook while you auto-attack one we have now.

2) Environmental Dangers: We need more of them. Say for instance during a boss fight half of the fighting arena catches fire, or submerges making the battle switch between underwater, and on land. Moving fire walls, more dodging and twitch skill needed. Makes people need to learn fights again, rather than being to smash 1 through all fights.

Can we get any response as to whether fights in the future of GW2 will be more enjoyable? All of your dungeons are fantastic, but the fights need more mechanics, and less health. Arenanet is an amazingly creative company, I know you can come up with more fun things for us to conquer in dungeons.

Rather than simple stat increases, the enemies definitely need more attacks to make them interesting, most enemies in the game have less than three attacks not including environment effects.

It’s pretty disappointing to see trash pose more of a challenge than the bosses of the dungeon.

Easiest fix would be to lock players out during wipes, either through an actual lockout or an excessively long run back. Honestly, one if the biggest boons a tank brings is the ability to prevent a wipe from ever happening simply by keeping a boss in combat indefinitely.

Some parts of the dungeons with non-combat elements are really fun. I hope there will be fights besides “dodge, dodge and dodge”.

I agree with you, most of the more enjoyable boss battles I faced involved some mechanic that players had to learn and use their skills to accomplish, like Baelfire in CoF Story mode. I really like the idea of switching between underwater and ground combat mid fight. Not sure if it can be done in the game, but it would make for a really interesting battle.

There are a couple really good ones. But sadly most are afk giant health pool fights. Anet has awesome moments in dungeons, they just need that across the board, instead on only once per dungeon.
