Incentive to not grave rush while increasing loot.
While I definitely wouldn’t say no to free Magic Find and tokens, especially with a decay rate of basically “nothing” per death, I can’t help but feel like the game already does discourage respawn rushing mechanically. Specifically: When you respawn rush, it means that you’re going to have to respawn rush.
When you die and respawn, in the time it takes you to run back, the rest of your party is now down to four people, making it more likely that someone else will die. If another person dies, then it’s down to only three people, which almost definitely means that at least one of them is going to die. Then you get there, and not only are there only two people left, but even with you, there are still only three. So one of you gets killed and has to respawn, while the second guy to die gets back, just in time for one of the others to die, and another one comes back, another one dies, another comes back, another dies, etc.
This is probably why you either hear about people having to rush back from the waypoint ten, twenty, or thirty times, or you hear about people who never have to do it more than once or maybe twice, and very few people in between. Most of these players would probably save a lot of time, frustration, and repair costs if they’d just let the group wipe and then regroup – even if it does mean letting a boss regenerate and having to start over again.
Still, there are enough players who aren’t really getting it that there should be more incentive not to do it. And I think a positive incentive for not doing it would be more effective than a negative incentive for doing it.
The thing is, people are just rushing in.
If this was in, people would try and res defeated players instead of pouring in and dieing right away.
No, rezzing a dead person isnt (and shouldnt be) viable in dungeons (and i mean dead, not downed), thus making every dungeon you run with a guildie the first time a deathbed for everyone who didnt raid before… it would be the AQ40 resist potion grinds all over.
