Guild Wars 2

I have been given the rare opportunity in that if I can form a group of competent players, I can submit a wildcard team to the [DnT] Invitational Tournament. This means that players not within these top guilds have a shot at seriously proving themselves as elite dungeon runners and can compete against the best of the best from around the world. Sounds good, huh?

I have a few friends I am reaching out to, but I want to get the ball rolling on drumming up interest for this, as we have until 6/20 to formulate a group, select our classes, get our alternate, and more importantly figure out streaming options. That’s a lot of work in not a lot of time.

Some background on me:

• I’m in NA EST
• All classes at L80 with meta builds and gear
• I have completed thousands of dungeons in my time playing the game
• I have soloed GL (Warrior)
• I have two- and three-manned Arah p1, p2, and p3 on numerous occasions
• I am closely familiar with every single dungeon path in the game
• I have done more fractals than you can shake a boomstick at

Because I want this team to be serious, I want only people who meet the following criteria to consider applying:

• Wants to have a lot of fun
• Willing and able to use Teamspeak 3 for coordination
• Willing and able to have numerous practice runs ahead of time
• Closely familiar with every dungeon path in-game (and willing to prove it)
• Willing to listen to suggestions and gets along with others
• Will spare no expense in getting properly geared for this tournament
  • Okay I’m not going to make you buy ascended armor, but if I say you need a Superior Sigil of Energy or something, you better ask how many!
• Will play something other than a Necromancer or Mesmer or Engineer
  • The only one we might consider is a Mesmer, and only if you’re super awesome at Portal

We will need someone who can stream! I am constructing a new computer in the next week and a half for this that should be able to, but I would vastly prefer if at least one team member were a streamer ahead of time so that we have multiple options available!

Anyway, if you’re interested, please respond in this thread or reach out to me by mail in-game! I’m particularly interested in players who have numerous geared 80s ready and who are flexible, as I have what I would consider my ideal team composition thought up for this and flexible players can fit into that mold more easily.

Haha. You missed the addendum! But really, Mesmer is the least undesired of the three. It is useful, but for the specific challenge of the tournament… I’d rather something a little safer. Hopefully you understand.

The specific challenge of this tournament pretty much rules out blatantly selfish classes like the Necromancer. Besides, the Necromancer just has so many problems in PvE! Trust me, one of my mains is a Necro, and I feel your pain!

I main thief.
I can play warrior guardian and thief very well. I have soloed Lupi with all 3 classes(Off the wall)
I have completed thousands of dungeons in my time playing the game

I have two- and three-manned Arah p1, p2, and p3 on numerous occasions
I am closely familiar with every single dungeon path in the game(except ta aetherblades. hotw p2/3)
I have done more fractals than you can shake a boomstick at as well
I used to be in DnT and was a vet but left.

I am interested. I main war (like everyone in the world), but I also play ele, guard, and thief all the time. I have soloed Mr. Lupicus on every class and I hold the record for fastest lupi engi kill (working on ranger now). I do dungeons all the time and know basically all of them.

It’s simple. Just gather all the Arah-NPCs at Shoggi and let them stand on the holes. If they refuse to, just tell them they’re allowed to pull the whole dungeon, that’ll change their mind for sure.

Well, I highly doubt I’m skilled for such a tournament but if any of the teams out there need a spotfiller, I can do.

I wanted to post that I am pretty sure I’ve filled out the entire roster for our group. We started doing our practice runs last night and for a group put together on the spot we came close-ish to record times! I’m pretty excited for this tournament!

I hire my friends list out for 1g each to stand on a geyser at Shoggoth. They don’t even have to attack the boss if they don’t want to! That said, I completely appreciate the attitude.

I posted this earlier in the thread, but I think it may have been overlooked. I have filled my group and am just working out who will be the alternate of our six before posting in the registration thread on the DnT forums. I’ll post it tonight or tomorrow.

I have no problem with other people using this thread for their own groups, or if they’d rather make a new thread that’s cool too. If there’s enough interest there should absolutely be other teams made!
