Hey all,

Just a quick question from a newbie:

I used to play GW2 a few years ago, got one character to 80, then stopped. However, I’ve returned to it with a friend and we’re both starting out fresh new characters (both rangers).

My question is: is it possible to two-man a dungeon? I only did a dungeon once before I left and hardly remember it, so what are dungeons like and is there any hope of two-manning one?

If not, how are they done? Is there a matchmaking system for them? Are they worth the time?

If you know the general mechanics, yes. Even if you don’t they’re fairly simple to figure out.

That said, there IS an in game Looking For Group (LFG) feature if you open your contacts and then go down to the second tab. It’s the magnifying glass icon. There, it has subsections for multiple different aspects of the game including dungeons.

There was a rework to dungeons so now every 8 DIFFERENT paths you do you will get 5g from a repeatable achievement.

As long as there’s no mechanics which require multiple people you can even solo dungeon paths. So yes, duo is very much possible if you’re willing to invest the time and effort. They’re the easiest out of all instanced group content by now, so it’s actually a pretty good way to get better and understand your class more.

As has been said though, there is an LFG feature ingame where you can list your group and hopefully find some people, as dungeons are quite dead. No idea how fast LFGs fill, though.

Me and my wife duo the dungeons for fun. We couldn’t do CoE duo to the laser consoles on Ele-Necro, and there’s an exploit for CoF p1 to do the braziers, but the timing is tricky. CoF p3 I was told cannot be done with 2 people.

Basically, with the HoT powercreep the dungeons are a pretty fun thing to do to pass the time with a friend if you want.

And it’s good to know that there’s an LFG system, even if it isn’t populated much. Still good to know.

Some dungeons can be pending they dont have 5 player specific mechanics (aetherpath comes to mind here)

Unfortunately unless you have some guild people who don’t mind running them (even then that’s hard to come by), you and your friend will have to run them duo because no one does dungeons anymore. I actually still like the dungeons and would love to run them, but even LFG is completely dead for dungeon runs. I see the occasional Story Mode run though.

Someone (my guildie) tried to solo Honor of the Waves and ended it well…. “if you know how to do it” and it doesn’t required team mech…
