We’ve been sitting in the instance dead for the past hour or so, can’t get past the second boss and we’ve been through 2 or 3 people already. There are also no threads about TA storyline in this forum (just explorable) Now I’m hearing that the final boss fight is bugged and uncompleteable.

How do you kill the bosses, if it’s at all possible?

Take a walk around Lion’s Arch and see how many people are wearing the light armor explorable mode set. Personally, I usually see quite a few. It’s the really floofy petally set that faolain and every sylvari mesmer in existance seems to wear.
Aka, yes, it’s doable and many have done it. The second boss is the spider one, right? It’s a corpse run. You have to go in, keep moving and pop out and run back whenever you die. On the very lucky occasion does anyone get through that entire fight without dying once, but for the most part someone always manages to stay up long enough for the others to run back. Rezzing is simply impossible in that fight. If you’re downed you’re dead. If someone tries to rez you, they’re dead too. Pick a waypoint, start running. It’s the only way.

The last boss is hell yes. But I can’t give you any tips without heavy spoilers. Let’s just say the beginning is just the worse and it gets easier as you go on.

I haven’t seen anyone in that set, then again I didn’t know what it looked like up until now.

It isn’t possible to do the corpse run, there’s just too much distance between the waypoint and the boss and generally people die at the same time because there’s 20+ adds running around hitting everyone for 1k a hit and dropping poison. It doesn’t seem mathematically possible to complete the fight when about 10 spiders appear at once, and you have about 8k health. If you get focused it’s almost certified death.

I suggested having 2 people doing nothing but add control and the other 3 on the boss, but by that time everyone had gotten sick of the instance and was either afk or offline.

… If the last boss is hell, what’s the first one?

Ahh, I’m sorry. My friend has most of it now and since I’ve seen it on her, I guess I just pick it out of the crowd. It’s sort of the outfit that screams “mesmer” for being totally impractical but absolutely ~fabulous~ looking. And flowery. Literally flowery.
The first boss? The melee one that is absolutely useless at range with a little bit of cripple on her? She should be a cake walk. And if someone isn’t living long enough for people to run back on the spider boss, then your group needs more survivability. The spiders are slow and should only kill you when you’re totally out of dodges, other movement abilities and poison clearing abilities. Keep aoe on the boss only so that spiders only die around him and make the poison clouds there, and melee’s downright impossible. If your warrior didn’t bring a gun/Guardian didn’t bring a scepter, they’re going to be useless this fight besides maybe another distraction for the spiders.
As I found the code for spoiler, here’s this.
[spoiler = Kill rytlock first. He does the most damage and is the worst CC. Mr. Sparkles usually dies with aoe so keeping some of that floating around whenever he’s up helps a bit, and Zojja’s only a minor annoyance without him. Logan is probably the bulkiest, but is usually the second target since he does the second most CC. Eir’s also a viable second option as she does the second most damage. Whenever one goes down Faolain comes down to rez them, so either hitting her enough that she fails to rez them or killing another one so that she can’t rez the second one as well does the trick. As each one goes down the fight gets exponentially easier. But getting that first one down, rytlock, is a nightmare.] [/spoiler]

You laugh because you think I’m joking. I laugh because I’m not.

The one where the ranger runs around the boss in a big circle and solo’s him…

At least that’s how I got past it

Oh, I remember the first boss. We spammed cripple on her, stood up on the ledge, waited for her to come up, then jumped down. Rinse and repeat. It was pretty funny.

The spiders don’t seem very slow. I actually think they move at 110-125% of normal movement speed. I couldn’t outrun/outdodge them them.

Hmm, I think I misinterpreted your statement, I thought you meant that the last boss was hell but still easier than the previous bosses.

I’m a ranger and its fairly easy to do the spider summon boss all you really need to do is run around in a big circle around him I’d suggest 1at a time or your teammates will screw up your rhythm and you’ll walk into poison and die lol at the end I suggest you kill Eir first as she can 1 shot you if your squishy lol

The spider boss I did by circle strafing with my shortbow. My party was corpse running it but I was keeping the boss aggro by running circles around it. It’s one of the tougher encounters I’ve played and unlike explorable modes, people usually only do it once so there isn’t a lot of experience in the group when doing it. I found my team mates made things harder by spawning poison clouds in my path while circling, so just be aware of that.

One thing that really helps is having a capable AoE class take care of the spider adds.

Glad to know this is a tough fight, I have a guild with a couple of friends that play another game and moved to gw2. We finally got to do a dungeon this past weekend, specifically this one and did pretty well for the most part, we wiped at this boss a few times but fortunately we are very experienced with raiding and figuring out bosses in games.

After a couple of tries we figured it was best to stay apart from eachother for the most part and run around the boss with ranged attacks, roll away from the poison clouds and the poisons he throws at you will summon spiders, best advice is to bring ranged weapon, aoes for the spiders when they are on you and condition removing for that poison. We also had signet reviving skills, I had signet of undeath and our ele had a glyph that rezzed party members, this is to evade getting to another player and risk being taken down yourself. We rarely went down fighting this way though.

The spiders he sends out are themselves, poison bombs. They don’t attack you but instead run up to you and detonate… so hitting the adds is kind of pointless.

Best thing to do is bring speed buffs and fight at range, bring condition removal and keep moving, only dodge when spiders close in on you (this will prevent their explosions from hurting you) If you get poisoned and your cooldowns wont let you save yourself, be a dear, and die by the front door so you’re easier to get back up

Also it certainly doesn’t hurt to bring some CC. Frost/Spike Trap/Muddy Terrain for rangers. Temporal Curtain for mesmers, and anything else that cripples/chills that can be fired off without switching your target off the boss.

I actually found that second champion to be really tedious. He does pretty much no damage so once we figured out “oh, the spiders are dying due to a mechanic, not aoe attacks” the fight became less hectic and turned into 10 minutes of running in circles whittling away his HP.

I may have found the last encounter a little more interesting if I wasn’t fed up with the dungeon(s) in general when we got to it. I think we got it on the second try and went with the order of Eir -> Zojja -> Rytlock -> Logan

If by second boss you mean Brangoire (some people count all the champions as bosses), he is soloable, as several people have pointed out.

Slow down the spiders (or equip speed buffs), avoid the gas clouds (or equip condition removal), keep moving.

A bit of a silly fight (and about 30% too long, same as most boss fights in GW2 – I’m usually bored by the end), but definitely not hard.

In fact, in TA (as in most GW2 dungeons) the bosses are generally easier than the mob groups between them. They just take longer to kill due to the big HP pools.

The last encounter is harder (since you’re dealing with multiple bosses, and things can get a bit messy), but once you understand the fundamental mechanic (attack Faolain to prevent her from resurrecting the other bosses) and start by dealing with the only real threat (Eir), it becomes quite simple.

actually you can just get 1 person to aggro the adds, then kite them in a circle till the boss is dead
