I noticed that fractal weapons drop without any stats on them. I already transmuted a fractal longbow to make it usable for my ranger without giving much thought to this potential problem, but today when I got a fractal torch it made me thinking. What if in a future update these fractal weapons will be update-able to ascended via the mystic forge the same way as the fractal capacitors and if i transmute them the recipes for them could break. It would be wonderful to see an official response on this.

I would assume that keeping the “Fractal ____” part would be enough to show the game that is in fact a Fractal weapon. I hope so, anyway. I transmuted my dagger and am about to transmute my shortbow.

My concern is based on two things. When u transmute your legendary sunrise you cannot combine it with Twilight in the forge, that recipe breaks, at least that’s how i’ve heard. Also when crafting corrupted weapons if the base weapon’s non existent stats are dealt with that recipe breaks as well.

Simple answer: the skin is exotic, the weapon you use reskinning is exotic.
You ends up with an exotic longbow. If tomorrow an ascended longbow is released but the “status” is not (sorta fo what happens using transmutation of a legendary weapon with stats you need, lowering the legendary to a normal exotic weapon losing all the property and future ascended instaboost) you will end up using an ascended longbow, with exotic status (no more pink), ascended property (infusion slot only), ascended skin, marked as exotic. Even if you didn’t use the skin at beginning, you would end up on the same result i explained. Wait a fix of legendaries not downclassed to exotic, then use your skin. If you used it yet, and a future patch (as dev explained yet) doesn’t provide any form of rollback or refund to the original status, you will end up with the result explained: an ascended weapon reskinned, turning to be an exotic weapon with ascended stats+skin.
