It’s the mesmer’s job to portal. Makes everyones’s life easier. Likewise, it’s the warrior or thiefs or eles job to kill the gate, not yours.

I can kill the gate with my mesmer just fine thanks. There isn’t always a thief or warrior in the party, and I can run the rolling rocks on all my characters.

I’m not here to change up my skill bar just because someone is too lazy to run. If you want a zerker speed run, advertise it that way. I never join those groups.

this is like the tool who said he never put down wall against the COE ice elementals because he wanted his party members to dodge the ice attack themselves.

I guess everyone is entitled to their own playstyle, and people are entitled to play suboptimally and criticise others for not liking their playstyle.

How exactly is using portal to get your party past the boulders quickly and efficiently related to ‘zerker speed runs’?

Of course it’s not hard to run through there. Portal is just one of those things that’s easy to do and saves some time. Some of the worst players are those who refuse to change their skill bar depending on the situation. If the guy made a huge stink about it, I could see that as annoying, but I don’t get being so adamantly against it. Mesmers have a portal for a reason, why not use it when will make a situation easier/faster?

People should be able to run past the boulders regardless. It’s incredibly easy to do.

At the same time, mesmers are more than capable of just carrying the party through it. Just shut up and be helpful.

COF1 is one of the few dungeons where phantasm DPS isn’t that reliable. For once I’d have to agree with this.

well what’d you expect? Just don’t bring mesmer to CoF and you won’t have to deal with this. Warriors and eles have much better DPS anyways.
