Yeah, generalizations are never good. However, in the OP’s specific instance it is not the “choose who you want to play with,” but rather the lol + kick with no explanation which equates to lacking manners.

Im About 99.9% sure this was my group you were kicked from I kinda remember your name. It was a CoF zerker farm and its all about speed and the right gear. you had scholar runes instead of ruby orbs in your armor. and you have MF buffs on your gems isntead of exquisuite ruby jewels or whatever. Based on that your just gonnna do about 50% the damage as all the other wars and just slow us down. It’s not really being elitist it’s just being all about speed and efficiency. It might take me longer to form a group or get players but it makes it overall faster and less of a chance to fail. Didn’t mean to make it so personal that you had to post on a forum though sowwwwy

If OP had MF gear he did some stuff wrong, but he also dodged a bullet by getting kicked by your group too. Being kicked by a group of ignorant players is like a badge of honor.

Ok, all I’m seeing in the dungeon section is whining threads of people getting kicked and threads full of complaints about class balance, and how everyone who does speedruns is an elitist and a cheater to require specific class/setup in their teams; you often get both types at a time. I’m so sick of reading this forum… Yet it’s like a dog that goes back to its own vomit, and so do people who keep on repeating the same things over and over and over…

CM, Arah, Ascalon Fractal, Harpy Fractal, HotW (not sure) are not Night. I might be missing one or two though.

The idea seems to be that if you’re underground, it’s night, and when you’re above ground, it’s day in dungeons.

sorry but even though I have the cash for these runes or others I would also call them subpar because the cost involved is to high for the minimal power increase they give.

I do not kick anyone with these runes but I do laugh silently at their stupidity for wasting so much money on subpar runes.

warriors are crit machines everybody knows that, with that in mind ruby orbs ARE superior as they give more crit dmg and are also superior because you don’t waste your money on subpar runes.

every decent warrior speed runner knows ruby orbs are the best in slot at the moment.

WTF is wrong with all theese guys thinking scholar runes are subpar to ruby orbs.
I laugh at anyone not spending a few gold to maximize their effectiveness.

Also to mention 4% Critdmg increase works out as an increase from 240% to 244%.
The 10% more damage work out as ~80% to ~90% because there aren’t as many base damage multiplifiers. So the percentual increase in scholars to rubty orbs is even higher than ~6% (considering 100% Critchance).

@Latin :learn to do some maths before speaking. Base damage is superior to crit damage. 10% more base damage will be amplified by the crit damage you already have. Adding a couple more % crit damage doesn’t do nearly as much as adding more % base.

This is also why sigil of force, night, smothering etc are vastly superior to sigil of accuracy as long as your group can maintain a lot of fury. Having slightly higher crit chance is bad compared to having 5 or 10% more base damage.

Because watching them proc all over the place in WvW is more entertaining than bashing your face on the keyboard in CoF :P

No seriously, a lot of the point in using a fire sigil is just so you can see explosions.

Knock yourself out. I’ve seen female covers of male sung songs that were amazing.

I can’t see a huge advantage to run this dungeon as fast as possible. The 1-2 minutes you make out of it is not worth the effort all the kicking, discussing, pinging etc. I think people just enjoy to do it as fast as possible, but at the end isnt’ really important over the course of time, since you won’t do more runs if you are faster. Rather you do a certain pattern – let’s say running 1,1,2 or whatever. If they are now 5-10 mins faster they end up fooling around in LA for 5-10 mins longer.

First of all, I’m not a CoF runner, and I never will be. But you and a lot of other people vastly misunderstand why people do it.

It’s not because of 1-2 minutes on 1 run. Or even about 30 seconds on 1 run. It’s about the fact that some people form groups that go at it for a couple of hours. When you save a minute on every run and you do 12 runs, that’s 2 extra runs you could be doing if your group is good.

The dungeon is boring enough as it is already. People just want to get as much out of it as they can, in order to be able to stop doing it.

This was not a kitten post complaining about me being kicked, it was curiosity about why I was wearing 95% of the ‘correct’ zerk warrior gear and was kicked anyway, and a question on the proper way of ‘pinging’ gear.

Things I did wrong:

- CTRL clicked only my breastplate, greatsword and axe into party chat, instead of shift clicking every single piece into one chat line. Didn’t link any accessories, so wasn’t me with the MF gems … my accessories all had exquisite ruby jewels in them (made them myself).

- 5% damage sigils on GS and Axe and bloodlust on offhand mace. Now replaced with sigils of the night and smothering.

- Scholar runes in my armor. I don’t dispute that these are good, but I’m not used to the dungeon enough to stay above 90% enough. I 100% salvaged that armor, sold the scholar runes and bought a new set of armor with ruby orbs.

I’ve run it a bunch of times now with speed running groups and all accepted groups, including one that was me and 4 necros. Everything went smooth regardless, with maybe a 5 minute difference in length between the two extremes.

And it’s a minor thing but I like that Eagle runes were even mentioned. As if anyone ever actually endorsed those for pve, so just mentioning those as viable is hilarious to me on a personal level because it’s a rare glimpse into the view of a know-nothing from the outside looking in.

I joined a random group with a coherent description and no $$$’s in the title. The first thing said upon joining was banner check, then ping gear.

Sorry to say this mate but suits you right. Not only did you try to contribute to that kind of lame behavour you are dazzled when it turned against you.
Too bad you didn’t fit to their elite community.You will have to play with the rest of us non-elite gamers.

One tip I’ve got for a greater chance of finding a normal, more relaxed but still competent group would be to advertise for path 2. It’s not hard at all, doesn’t take long, and if you like the group near the end of the run ask them if they want to run p1 a few times. Chances are you’ll find a bunch of necros, eles, rangers and whatnot jumping at the chance to farm this for some gold without getting kicked because they’re not zerker warriors.

Basically, while CoF p1 can be a very efficient gold farm, it’s not the only way to do it. The day I finally completed my legendary, I ran CoF a few times, SE p1-p3 a few times, TA fw/fw then up, some CoE.. etc. Personally I find just repeating the same path over and over for hours mind numbingly boring – I prefer to mix it up a bit with other dungeons even if the gold farm takes a tad longer. I bought the game to have fun, not to repeat the same thing all day because it makes me most gold..
