Hi everyone,

This topic come from an awfull experience I just got and of course, it’s not my hobby to take screenshot everytime I go in fractal…

There are already topics on this subject but none of them answered correctly this important point :
Was a report already successfull? I mean, I am not interested if you already recieved a confirmation message from gw2 staff that a punishment (ban for exemple) has been done. I want to know if you have evidence about banned account for THIS reason (even if it yours of course)…
I want to know if gw2 staff are really doing something against these game experience breakers or they don’t care because it’s not cheating or hacking !

I would screen shot the LFG party and make a support ticket directly to anet. As someone who does dail lvl 50s this kittenes me off even though I run with guildies mostly. That deserves either a deletion if rewards or couple days of suspension imo

When I got kicked out of my selling run I contacted anet with video evidence and proof that they did it over several months (also using bugged codes to crash people’s gw2.exe)

Guess what, they didn’t care.

I think that person he’s talking about is more than likely someone else. Back when the old dungeon system was in place where there was a party leader of a dungeon party, there was someone who would ‘buy’ an arah path from an LFG, somehow take over the party, and kick everyone else to become the party leader and sell all the spots for all the profit. With the new party system there is no more party leader and you need 3 votes to kick someone. More than likely that’s not him but who knows.

oh yeah… almost for sure OP’s guy is someone else… my point was that this guy was super infamous and yet was never banned (I see him online sometimes) so why bother with reports?

On the other hand, I’m talking about sending reports through official channels: I didn’t know it was possible to send reports directly to Rising Dusk … maybe that’s worth a try.

Last time Eranatos posted his videos of this behavior and Chris Cleary came in scolding him we raised this point. Multiple people sent videos. Guy is still around.

For sure send info to customer service, but just don’t get your hopes up that anything will happen. They simply don’t really care.

Chris Cleary may or may not be the right person to talk to in this case. I can’t promise things get done, but I do know that I’ve reported people for griefing in the LFG tool before and they have been banned for it (generally 72hr bans). If that doesn’t happen every time, honestly I’d attribute it more to it falling through the cracks and not being pushed hard enough.

Think of it this way, you don’t report him, he will definitely not be banned. Report him and at least there’s a chance that he will.

On the other hand, reporting takes time and effort. You have to weigh that against the chances of action by Anet.

Good to hear, the only successful reports I’d heard of before were the ones taht Eranatos had to campaign for and level up his PvF account for. Can’t say the heitred in my heart has gone anywhere though.

Got kicked from my arah path by 2 individuals a few weeks ago, sent a report with video evidence to Anet and a few days after that I didn’t see them online for about 3-4 days while they were online daily before that (used my block list to check their locations.)

I assume they got a 3 day suspension for their behavior, but a few days later when I looked at the arah LFG they were apparently at it again since there was a LFG saying “Dont buy from path thieves insert names”.

I think short suspensions aren’t enough in cases like this, since they apparently don’t scare people enough to stop them from griefing.
Our good “friend” that has been stealing paths for 3 years now, and even had his name turned into a term used for getting griefed is a great example of this

Ive seen more and more of that in LFG, the don’t buy from xx player they are scammers, Anet will never beable to get on top of this, if I an running with a PUG group I tend to avoid guild only groups, if its high end fractals and I see 3 ppl from same guild I tend to leave, there is so much of this going on now in game that it really does make you distrust pug groups, and guild groups for the most part.

In saying that, with the change coming to Fractals, we may see a massive drop in kicking, as its only 1 fractal instead of 4, so it should be faster, and as Anet has all but said they are done with Dungeons it may not be an issue,

Kicking from Raids is bound to be the next big issue.

Welp, as Jerus said I got individual temp banned for 72 hours twice, everytime at the cost of some posting privileges.

I made videos to show what happened and it was both times Chris Cleary, who is still my favourite dev that took care of them.

However my last ticket on griefing in dungeons was met with an automated “WvW griefing” answer, hence me not really believing in Support anymore xD

You will always encounter generalized responses as a first-cut response. It resolves a sizable portion of their issues, so it’s always worth a shot for their team. If that doesn’t work, all it takes is a follow-up email on that thread and a request for escalation if needed and the action gets taken.

Note: They definitely won’t tell you if it’s been done. The only person who publicly executes people with bans is Chris Cleary because reasons.

At least in 9 days this won’t be as much of a deal anymore because a Fractal will be only a single instance instead of 4. Nothing worse than going through 3-4 dungeons and someone DC’s or gets kicked on the last one.

Sadly nothing will be done about this. There is a group of people who do this with Arah sellers and they are still around nothing has been done about them and I’ve reported along with many others.

It’s not a matter of reporting people it’s about putting more pressure on Anet to do away with their flawed party system. Go back to the days of GW1 where you form a party, and for good or for bad, you’re stuck with those members. This is not the first time I’ve heard of this. Guilds are doing it as well just to put their friends in to get their daily rewards on things as simple as dungeons.

Fact of the matter is there is no excuse for a vote-kick system in GW2 because the instances are just so short. So what if your party is ‘noob’. You don’t start kicking people like it’s a game of survivor and if anyone messes up their voted off the island. I hope somebody sees this, or that it spreads. We may even need to form a petition of sorts.

Good for you. Hopefully someone at the CSR eventually gets tired of you abusing the report system and gives you a time-out.

This kind of behavior is also why customer support tickets to report players are far more successful than in-game reports.

Then by now it’s highly likely (if you’re to be believed) that your reports are auto sent to the trashbin.

Most tickets systems have a weight system supporting them, to many false or useless reports and you get either A) Banned B) Auto-Ignored

Judging how you’re still around im inclined to believe either you’re using a bit of hyperbole, you dont see any selling paths in LFG, or you’ve been Auto-Ignored.

Selling paths is not a bannable offense. On the LFG Policy thread, it was stated that selling paths is ok.

hmm. maybe if dungeons were rewarding, and the game in general were more rewarding, we wouldn’t need to sell paths to begin with. if only there were some technology that would allow this.

Haha right? Anytime I join a group and it’s 4 guildies and then me as the random PUG I add them all to friend’s list juuuuuuuuust in case they get frisky and kick me out so I have their names to fill out to customer service.

you sell dungeonpaths/fractals at your own risk. maybe and only maybe if some mod is merciful they will give someone a temp ban. i heard that happened but it won’t happen systematically and imo it shouldn’t happen at all.
selling dungeons is unintended gameplay and while it may be tolerated it is not supported.
get that into your heads already.

I’m not sure, maybe its too hard to police. It was also allowed in GW1, so I guess they felt it was ok to continue. People have the option of posting paths that don’t need to be bought. Thinking about it more, the LFG tool is based on people looking for groups to do something. I guess, looking for players to buy a path…is in the same spirit of what the tool was designed for.
