Kicked out when someone leaves at the end?
The first person to enter the dungeon is what is known as the instance owner. When they leave the dungeon, other party members get kicked. This is NOT the same thing as the person that started the party.
Hopefully, in the future, there will be a system that assigns a new instance owner when this happens. If instance owners were considerate, they would wait for all members to grab their chest before leaving. This issue is one of the reasons I don’t PuG as much as other people do.
Dungeon owner? . Why would there be a dungeon owner? You get in, when you are done you get out.
So assuming i’m in a pug and the “dungeon owner” gets kitten and leaves in the middle of the run the whole group will get kicked out just because of that?
This sounds idiotic to me
It’s because the opener needs to have done the story mode of that dungeon while everyone else don’t.
So if the flagged person leaves then it kicks everyone else out.
It’s very bad form to leave like that when you are the dungeon owner. Although it’s sometimes due to forgetting and not out of malice.
But why should that happen? As long as one person has story mode unlocked and he enters the dungeon then all the remaining party members get to enter too.
It should not be binded to one person, this can easily be abused by people.
This is actually because when you enter a dungeon, that dungeon “belongs” to them and the character you seen in all the cinemas is THEM. Wouldn’t make much sense to be able to play someone else’s story without them, does it? Same thing as if you are following someone into a personal story mission; it is their instance, their story, it belongs to them. They leave, everyone else has to leave too.
This is coded at the core of the instancing system so changing it would probably require an overhaul of the instance system, and with the long list of bug-fixes and content, is unlikely.
