Killing Lieutenant Kohler
$$cashmoneyzerkfarm$$
killing kholer could save some time in p2 and possibly 1 by adding an extra wp, though if you are in a pug it might be faster to skip it (cos pugs normally have kitten dps)
when I do casual runs with my guild we kill it because it’s free loot and only ~5s if it goes well

Maybe because they play a charr or a Norn. Both of these races
yell "Kill em all " when they get a fury\swiftness buff .
While I get that experienced, organised groups might want to kill Kohler because he goes down quick when stacking properly and using the right skills, why do all the PUGs also try to kill him? I mean, it takes quite a long time with the average PUG and there’s often a chance of wiping due to people not dodging his pull. Is it really worth it for PUGs to not skip him?
He is a decent encounter. I always leave the group if they are too lazy to kill him.
From a rewards perspective, though, is it worth it?
Not really, nope, not at all.
Given we’re speaking of your usual AC 5 random guys party – nooooooooooooo, just get done with the path and run away.
From a rewards perspective, though, is it worth it?
The fun killing him and seeing the rest of the group die trying is reward enough for me.

It is a fun fight, better than almost every other. I’m playing this game to have fun fights; if I don’t do them, why the hell am I even logging in?

There are really fun fights in this game, you just have to look for them.

Indeed there are many, but this one is one of them in my book. I don’t get it when people consider more fun to save, what? 1 min? 2 mins? of a dungeon run and want to skip it.
I think the only thing that makes me more sad than people who skip Kholer are people who have to stack and LoS him.
If kholer wasn’t so squishy we’d be a great fight, sometimes he doesn’t even pulls before getting blown up. :/

These groups don’t “have to” pull and los him. They do it because it’s faster. The idea of doing something slower just for the hell of it is what’s sad to me. Not because you actually waste time by doing so, but because if you are not striving to do things as well as they can be done then what’s the point. Most people don’t enjoy just doing things, they want to be good at them and do them efficiently, which in this case entails stacking up, stacking might, los’ing and killing him as fast as possible.
But stacking and los’ing are exploits.

Are you really trying to suggest that stacking and LoS’ing is more skillful than fighting him in the designated fight space?
Because it’s not.

He’s suggesting that it’s faster; and that you seem to be suggesting that the purpose of stacking and LoS’ing is to compensate for a lack of player skill, when it is not. The purpose is to get the fight over and done with in a fast (the fastest?) manner, instead of making it take longer than it needs to.
If I had my way, my groups would all skip kholer, but yolo I guess.
I kill it because he opens a WP so i can port faster later when i do P1.
If i do P2 and P3 i just kill it because he is an easy fight.

But think of the mad loot you get! Worth.

Are you suggesting that killing kohler is in any way a display of good skill? because it’s not; it really isn’t and if you’re proud of your kohler killing abilities then that’s just as much as a guy proud of finishing primary school with an award for participation.
he’s fun m8
i would like to retain a mere scrap of fun to hang onto for dear life in this little game
please don’t take my kholer away from me, I’ll solo him if I have to

Let’s just 2 man him, like, all the time. Forever. Just the two of us.
He’s a fun, challenging fight. I happily take him on if the party wants to fight him, but I’m also OK with skipping him if they’d rather just move on.
