Is there an already-accepted way to convey (or does anyone have suggestions) in an LFG basically “I know I am bad at this, please don’t join if you are going to get frustrated”?

I have problems with my hands (pain/poor motor control) which makes my gameplay sometimes comically terrible and I am anxious about joining strangers who might think I am just not even trying and get mad :/

(if your advice is ‘maybe dungeons are only going to make you sad’ I respect that also but I was just wondering if anyone had thoughts/advice)

If you want to try dungeons, use texts like: pX, be patient or New Players, looking for help. or something along those lines.
I don’t know how severe your problems are, but as a lot of those path is basically memorising what you have to do, you may find it even enjoable and if you use soldiers gear you probably won’t even have to dodge most of the time.

My suggestion for you is to avoid any group that has an AP requirement, demands that you ping gear in chat, and anything that says “exp” or “metazerk.” A huge portion of them don’t even know what the abbreviations/words mean and just do it because they mimic others and the vast majority of the groups on the LFG with posts like “p1 exp 5k metazerk ping gear” are likely to be really unpleasant to play with.

You will probably not like them. You should just stick to your own LFGs or look for the ones that either have nothing specified other than the paths, or just the ones that don’t set weird arbitrary standards that have nothing to do with the dungeon (like AP lol).

I will also add that if I join pug groups I prefer to be with newer players as opposed to tryhards that act like pugging is speedclearing. I know many others who share the same sentiments.

Additionally, the thing that I think is really important to not aggravating others is to be willing to communicate. If you fail to understand what to do and would like to be told, then simply ask for it. When someone doesn’t know what to do, trust me it is obvious to those that do. If you want to be liked by them then you should make an effort to learn what you lack understanding of instead of try to hide and expecting them to carry you. ^^

Can’t re-emphasis that enough — be upfront about being new/inexperienced, and say if you need things explained. Your party will love you for it, and most will go out of their way to make sure to explain everything.

The LFG I’d advise is something like “casual newbie looking for teacher”. That is a dream come true for some of us, and it sounds like you’re willing to be a good student.

My other recommendation is to find a good, casual PvE guild. It’s so much better than pugging, especially if you’re trying to avoid obnoxious kittenheads. Let me know if you’re NA and I can send you an invite to [ARES]. Things are a bit slow these days so it can be hard to get a party together sometimes, but we’re very willing to take new players into dungeons and are always patient with them

“LFG Old man hands, You’ve been warned” Don’t worry I’m with you on slow and clumsy fingers, but apparently my attitude allows even the elites in this forum to not completely hate me Just be open about your limitations and things go smoothly, well at least on the social aspect, I’ve certainly screwed up plenty of dungeon runs, but being drunk and taking the blame seems to help.

If I played more often I’d love to play with you, I <3 people who accept their limitations and still want to participate, it’s like “ohh there’s another person like me!”

lol jerus, drunk dungeon runs are the best!

My best advice is to look for the silly/crazy/fun lfgs. They usually have groups with more patience than dungeon farmers.

a) Do the same way as now (push the ‘’Advertise your party’’ bottun + type comments on the box , such as ‘’only 80 EXP ZERGERs NEEDED’‘)
b) Push the ’’Create Party Que’’ (right next to the ‘’Advertise your Party’’ bottun) , where you can only choise the ‘’Story or P1/P2/P3 options’’ , but you CANT type any comments on the boxxes .
Each team members character will transformed with a tonic into an Ascalonian form , where their Visual Gear + each party members lvl on the left side will be hidden .

If 5 ppl joins you party , then every1 will get a buff that increase the reward at the end of the dungeons .

If some1 joins and then immidiatly leaves you party (trolling) you cant que up again with this mechnic and you are forced to use the ‘’old way’’ . (that person like the PvP Dishonorable , cannot join for some days in the parties using the 2nd mechanic)
If you kick some1 , cause you dont like their name (harrashing) , you leave the que and you cant use this mechanic (for 30 min) .

The 2nd option is no different than listing only the path number in your description, waste of a button.

If you are listing for a group and accepting anyone, whether or not you see their armour skins or lvl is negligible, and if I buy skins to look sexy af, I enjoy looking sexy af.
If you are asking for a lvl 80 group of zerkers, you aren’t looking for a deceitful party to hide behind this transformation to get a free carry, people want to know upfront if you’re failing their requirements, not half way through after wiping.

The dungeons are designed to be group content, giving you a buff for having a group is like, congrats, you managed to put together a group, for group content, huzzah on getting enough people for that 5 man group mechanic.

People are not always necessarily leaving parties just ‘cause’. If I click the wrong lfg, I don’t want to be removed from listing again. If a group says zerker only and I’m looking at a guy running a soldier’s set, I’m going to want to leave since all they want is the rest of the party to carry them. I’d rather not be stuck between carrying group members or punished and unable to find a group, I just want a run where party members are being truthful about whether or not they match the party requirements.

People are not kicked for their names, or very rarely. If a lvl 46 joins a party asking for lvl 80s, they should expect to be kicked. Then removing a party from the queue(or disallowing them to relist) because people either failed to read, or decided to troll, is once again, punishing them for issues that were not their fault.

The second method already exists, you just say “p2” it is identical to your proposal, except you don’t need a second button.

I’m unsure if your proposal about hiding armour skins/level is only meant to apply to your 2nd option, or apply to both. I think this is where the confusion is.

Create your own LFG.

But be prepared to wait for like 40min or 1 hour.

98% of the people always want fast runs, and that means level 80 + experienced (know the path and bosses) and full exotic.

So people that form their own groups without lfg and those that want a smooth run (even those with easy requirements such as being lvl 80) get less rewards?
