As of right now many of you are frustrated with the lack of a good Looking For Group system. So I was thinking what if we used Guilds as a way of creating our own LFG temp. solution.

How it would work:

1. First establish a guild representing each dungeon currently in the game.
2. Invite everyone who is interested in running that dungeon into said guild.
3. When interested in running the dungeon click represent guild and use the guild chat to locate others also interested in running the dungeon.
4. When finished running the dungeon go back to representing your original guild (if permanently done with dungeon leave the guild).

These temporary guilds would only be used for running dungeons and would not be used or ran as if actual guilds.

That’s been going on for a while, I joined a dungeon guild like a month ago that maxed out to 500 people.

Here’s the problem:
You can only see chat while you are representing that guild. I get not being able to talk without representing, but not being able to see chat is a huge problem because most people don’t want to represent a dungeon guild all night just to see the chat.

Ultimately the guild ended up failing because 95% of the people aren’t even representing so they can’t even see you trying to setup dungeons. This has been done multiple times on reddit where it hits 500 members very quickly, but after a couple days no one is representing and it ends up failing. If Anet let you see chat and filter it to different tabs without having to represent, this would work a million times better.

Ahhh I see your point adding additional tabs that would allow you to see other guild chats would be tremendous for this.

If you had a guild dedicated to AC, and ONLY AC, then you wouldn’t need to represent it at all – you’d still see who’s online and who you can whisper for AC runs. It would serve as an extended friendlist, with people openly interested in farming/completing a given dungeon. But it would have to be one dungeon per guild organism, with people leaving that guild once they’ve lost interest in running the dedicated dungeon.
